Water fill never stops - never! on Kenmore Model 665-16379301
Even after draining and ending the wash and dry cycle water continues to fill - continuously - until it floods out. I had to turn the hot water off at the source to stop it.

Try eserviceinfo.com/index as per your 80 series. There are various downloads there that may help access the water level sensor which is most likely the problem.
This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.
First, see the Sears parts site for your washer: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action
Enter your model number (###.#######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.
Then, see the Whirlpool / Kenmore Service Manual for top load, direct drive washers.
if you need to emergency drain stop m/c and start slowly untighten the drain filter>
the sensor of water called a "water leveling switch " it must be checked .
thanks
If the timer gets to the rinse cycle and stops, Check the lid switch for continuity. If no continuity replace the lid switch. If the timer continues through rinse and spin without doing either, replace the timer.
The timer is the most common problem. Call any appliance parts store and tell them the model number and ask for price for new timer. Also call sears appliance parts and get price. But a new timer and install it.
When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it. Good luck!
Is your drain pump constantly running? If it isn't, check the standpipe (drain pipe) and make sure you don't have your drain hose shoved down in the pipe too far or the top sealed off. The stand pipe needs an air gap to properly drain, or it can siphon water from the wash tub. Symptom: Washer continually tries to fill or slow fills, but water won't stay in wash tub. Double check your drain line to be sure. It could be a simple fix.
