SOURCE: Laptop keeps shutting down, both fans not working
sounds like you have a bad motherboard, or uP...is this under warranty, by chance?
SOURCE: screen stays black on startup of toshiba satellite L300
have you tried either switching between external and internal monitor usally Fn + F5 on toshiba or try plugging a monitor into the back and see if it displays.
if you get a display on the external monitor then its probably a screen or inverter fault if you donot get a display to an external screen then it is likley t be the graphics on the board itself.
hope this helps
SOURCE: HP Pavillion dv2500 laptop won't turn on
Kinda strange. Not turning on indicates a hardware problem, you made software changes. If the software changes caused a problem, it would start, just not boot to windows. I would first tryy to reset the laptop. Unplug it and remove the battery, hold down the power button for 60 seconds, then try again. If still no go, start removing hardware one at a time, hard drive, rem, wireless card, dvd rom. You may have a bad hard drive. Your pc should boot to bios if there is no hard drive installed. If that happens, run a diagnostic on your hard drive from your bios. Let me know if you need anything else.

SOURCE: Doesnt stat up and no light showing charge
Hi,
Here's one way to determine the problem.
Take the battery out and try to boot on AC power only, if it boots turn it back off, reinsert the battery again and try to boot.
Sometimes you just have to take the battery out and plug it back in again, with others it is the battery and you have to leave then out until a replacement is bought.
If it still won't boot on AC only, remove and reinsert the memory, try to boot the computer and listen for any beeps.
Post back if you need further assistance.
Good luck.

This sounds like you have a bad DC jack on your motherboard.
This is one of the most common problems with laptops and can be caused by jarring the DC plug in or hitting it into something or simply from normal use. As a result the pins on the DC jack become loose and consequently do not provide a charge to the laptop and battery. Wiggling the plug can make the loose pins contact sometimes which would explain why it "sometimes" works when you unplug it and plug it back in. Of course if this is the case then your battery is mostly out of power and that is why it powers off after a couple seconds. This repair costs between $150-300 from a professional repair shop and I would not recommend trying it yourself unless you've had experience soldering DC jacks
Another issue could be the CPU fan/heat skin if this is failing or the CPU is overheating the laptop will power off.

Remove
the bolts or screws securing the console to the upright assembly.
Lift the console and confirm that the cable connections are secure.
Remove the cover from the console's battery bay and install a fresh
set of batteries. Replace the battery cover.
2
Detach
the ends of the pedals from the crank axles. Remove the left and
right disc shields and side shields. Inspect the interior of the base
unit and locate the flywheel.
3
Inspect
the flywheel as it turns. Locate the magnet installed on the
flywheel. Turn the flywheel until the magnet passes in front of the
nearby reed switch. Loosen the screw securing the switch in place.
Rotate the switch to reduce the gap between it and the magnet.
Tighten the screw.
4
Replace the left and right disc shields and side shields. Reattach the ends of the pedals to the crank axles.
The way to tell if your NordicTrack digital console is bad is to troubleshoot it first. If nothing works, you've got a bad console. The digital console is an important part of exercising. A manual machine will still work even if the console doesn't, but an automated machine needs the console to work so you can adjust things like speed, resistance and incline. You also can't use programs or see your time, distance or estimated calories burned without a working console. The two most common reasons that a console will be dim, display bad results, or won't turn on are bad batteries and a problem with the reed switch.
