MONITOR KEEPS SWITCHING TO STANDBY

Hi there when you switch the screen on, it stays on for a while and then switches off, when you switch it off and on again the screen stays on for a while longer and switches off again , after repeating switching off and on again several times the amount of time the screen stays on gets shorter and then stays off all the time .

Same issue. It will stay on at least until Windows boots, then it will swithch to stand-by. power button stays green. If I hit one of the menu buttons on the side 2x, it will come back for about 5 seconds, then off again.

As one of my "initial things to do," I unplugged the monitor and then replugged it in and it did not fix anything.  Then after reading others' solutions, I unplugged the monitor and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Once I plugged it back in, it worked just fine. My setup is a laptop with docking station - the monitor in question is attached to the docking station as a dual-screen setup.  Though this may not matter technically, it might help those searching for solutions. Thx! Jake

Either the power supply is going bad (power light will be orange or off when it goes dark) or the screen itself has the problem (inverter?). If the power button stays green but the screen goes dark, that'll be the problem.

My AOpen 19" LCD Flat Screen Monitor (Model F2915) is like new and works perfectly except for one thing. The push button power switch located on the top of the monitor has broken off and fallen insid

Certainly, if you jumper the connections to see which ones turn the monitor on or off, then you can go to an electrical supply place and get a micro switch and wire it in in place of the power button, or perhaps find a type that is flat that the power button can press. What you need to determine is if it is a push-on, push -off type switch, which always stays on or off depending on position or if it is a momentary interrupt switch where the button pressed momentarily turns it on and then releases and a second press connects the circuit to turn it off. You can do this by testing with your jumper wire, attach it and if the monitor stays on when you remove it, then goes off when you attach it again, you need the second type switch, if it goes off when removed, you need the always-on always -off first type switch. .

I have a 19" cmv

How old is it? If it still under warranty get it repaired, it sounds like the switch is gone or the energy saving s/w inside is bad and is not detecting when/when not to turn the display on/off.

Acer Monitor Not Staying On

Hi,

It sounds like there's a problem with the monitor itself. It may be that the lamp in the computer is dying, which would explain why it keeps going out. Other possibility is that the monitor isn't receiving power properly either through the cable or inside the monitor itself.

If your're not the kind of person who wouldn't mind opening the monitor up and hopping in there, then I recommend you take it somewhere it can be diagnosed like Best Buy.

Hope I helped :)

Hi, I have an LG Flatron TV which I bought 6 years ago. Good picture, no problems until now. I put the set on standby via the remote. Later, when I put it on via the remote all I got was sound and no...

Since the screen keeps turning off and sound only remains have a look at the inverter board for any buldging capacitors which look like blue cans, there is most probably a short in the inverter and the powersupply is sensing this thus turning it back into standby to prevent damage to the tv.

This is a problem with the power supply unit inside the monitor, there is no easy way out here. If you keep on using your monitor like this eventually it won't switch on no matter how long you wait. Keep on using it like this for the time being without switching off anything but ultimately you will have to take it in for repairs or otherwise purchase a new screen..
