Kenmore 54351 Dehumidifier is leaking -- water isn't going into the tray, but seems to be leaking out into the floor.

This just started happening, not sure why as nothing as changed with the dehumidifier. Instead of the water tray collecting water, the water is leaking out into the floor or collecting somewhere inside the machine and the water isnt' making it into the tray.

Mine is doing the same thing. The bucket is dry and the floor is flooded, so it is not an inability to condense, and it is not that the bucket has overflowed, and the bucket does not have a leak. It had been working great and then this suddenly started happening, it's as if the water is not flowing along the proper route and instead is gathering behind the bucket.

It looks like it is simple to get the filter out but we are finding it to be imposible. How can we take it out. It doesn't just pull down.

I believe on this model there is a water collection container. If you remove it & look up underneath, you will see a hose or outlet for the water. Take a screwdriver & push it up & squiggle it around in the outlet. If water starts to pore out, you've solved the problem. Good luck!

Have had the Kenmore 54351 Dehumidifier for 2 years. I started it up recently. Had it run for days. Not a drop of water. How do I fix it?

It may simply be a case of 4 things: Any of which can cause the problem.

1. The air intake filter is dirty or clogged.

2. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32%.

3. Obstructed air flow around the unit. You must maintain a minimum of 12" clear air space around the entire unit, while in operation.

4. The ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 & 60 degrees F. This is true in basement applications and the unit will not function properly. Unless it's a Low Temperature unit. Placing it up off the floor on a sturdy table or counter top that can adequately hold the weight of the unit, plus a full bucket of water, usually solves that problem.

Worse case scenario, the compressor needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas. But, that doesn't happen that often.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.
