Kindly check your sound settings first. It must no be on mute. Check also the physical knob for the volume control. If you have an earphone to try, then it might help to determine if there is no problem with the speakers. Also you need to try windows media player, cause it might be the settings on the software that you are currently using. If you are not sure for the correct driver for the sound card, you can find it it the Recovery CD of this notebook. (TOSHIBA RECOVERY DISK, DRIVERS and APPLICATION). The most appropriate sound card driver is in that disk. If still unresolved, try running PC Diagnostics for the speakers and sound card. The sound card might be defective as a last option.
