Problem with portable dvd player

Lithium ion batteries can be over charged. You have to try to discharge it then recharge it to retain the long life of the battery. Otherwise you have to replace the battery.

are you familiar of the optical problem?

your unit is probably got it, why it cant read disc..

Ive only had mine for 2 months and it just stopped playing dvds all together. I had a brand new dvd playing, went to switch it to another new dvd movie and it wouldnt read it or any other dvd Ive tried. I havent tried a blu ray disc yet.

It worked for my Philips PET741/37:

1. Power ON the DVD player without a DISC inside
2. Press the skip keys in this order (the keys are under the "disc menu" and "stop"): right, left, right, left, right, right, left (YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO TO SETUP MENU, just do this in the "blue screen".
3. It will show a menu with region, now use the arrow keys to select "region" and change to "test 0" (all regions).
4. Press OK to confirm. Enjoy

dvds and cd's have new format out now for anti piracy you have to go out and buy new dvd drive 8 months ago bought a dvd player not just a month ago found out they changed the formats on dvd's and cd's this cant be changed or modified

My friend suggested I clean the dvd optical reader lens inside the player with a fine brush (like a camera brush with a blower bulb). This seemed to help immensely. I'm not certain if this is just a temporary fix, but it seems to be ok so far.

have you tried useing a cd/dvd cleaner disc sounds like the laser is dirty
