Vizio E470VA - TV will not stay on. When power button is pushed Vizio logo will illuminate, backlights comes on then every thing turns off.

The TV slowly began to degrade. At first the TV would turn on and you had a picture and sound then it would turn off. After a while it would turn back on. This slowly got worse to a point that you heard some crackling noise and then no sound. TV will now only illuminate logo but will not show a picture. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your posts. I would like to repair this myself. Based on your responses the main board will need replaced. In your opinions do you think the power supply board is OK? Can you give me a few places to purchase teh new main board? Thank you

Another comment i would like to add is that my TV is also about two years old. Vizio Customer no support stated that i can only expect 4 to 5 years of life from this TV.

SOURCE: 47" two yr old Visio

This is the second time I have seen this problem this week. Seems like a common issue on Vizio LCDs. Anyways the problem you mentioned indicates that the tv-micro IC has failed. THis is located on the main audo/video board and a component level repair is not possible in this case. The main A/V board has to be replaced and it should cost you around 100-125$. Would you like to do it yourself?

How to test Tcon and other board on Vizio television. When I first connect power logo is bright orange, then slowly dims.

That isn't a timing control board issue, see if you have PSON voltage for starters, if you do then test the various power supply voltages, it could be either the main or power board giving issues, but I would bet on the power supply is bad since the logo comes stays on

Why does my Vizio E470VLE LCD TV have no picture but it does have sound?

you may have a backlight problem. To verify this, dim the lights in the room. Turn on the set and shine a bright flashlight on the screen. If you see a faint picture, you have a backlight fault.

Vizio Model SV320SVT powers on, after Vizio splash screen it goes blank. Power stays on, but no backlight on screen.

Yes its very repairable as long as the logo stays white you can assume the main boards good. I would recomend contacting the people at www.tvrepairworld.com by hitting the contact us button from their website. They will be able to assist you in finding out whats happening with the set for free. They have most parts available as well.
