When the 88 displays, put a heating pad over the display - it will be ready in just a few minutes. Sounds crazy, but it works every time.

    Thank you so much. Still worked like a charm. It took about 30 minutes of the heating pad on the display, while the dryer was unplugged.

The "od" code appears when you must open the washer door. The Maytag Neptune washer requires that you open the door between cycles.

Hi My Neptune gas dryer tries to start for a split second then flashes 88 and goes into complete shutdown then the display comes back on. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Error code of "dc" on my TL Maytag Neptune
If your machine is FAV6800AW or FAV9800AW the dc/UC errors are caused by a clutch malfunction. Your machine is shutting down with those errors so your Tub Displacement Sensor is working as designed.

Fix the Clutch malfunction and you can wash a single sock or a load of blue jeans and you will not take the dc or UC unbalance errors. See this post for the fix.

Won't start. Light are lit, but the 'start' button does nothing.
If the display shows an '88' then place a heating pad over the display. In a few minutes the '88' code will clear, and the dryer will work. Sounds crazy, but it works for me every time.
