Motorola Z3 can't read the sd card

I can think of a few possible issues:
1. SD card not formatted (format it in the camera)
2. SD card bad. try another one.
3. SD card bigger than camera can handle.

yes. you can try to insert the sd card to a computer using any all-in-1 memory card reader. then if windows detects it, right click the card's drive in windows explorer then select format. choose FAT as file system type. before you put it back to your camera clean the card's contact points, insert the card and if the camera detects the card format it again using the camera's format tool.

If there are sd card error, you cannot format your sd card. you may get messages like

"No SD memory card inserted" messages appears when using digital cameras,
"A media card hard been inserted that contains errors. Do you wish to repair the Media Card now?"
You can read the files on SD memory card, but you cannot write new files or you cannot edit files on SD memory card,
"Access denied", when SD card is corrupted or broken,

you may have to buy a memory card reader, plug it into your computer and format the memory card before it will work in your phone, or your phone may require a different format of the same card, for instance some camera's take SD cards, and some take the HD/SD card, and they are not interchangeable, the SD will not work in the HD/SD device and vice versa..........hope this helps........

sometimes there are sd card errors make you format failed. you may get messages like

"Unsupported media card inserted, format now?" error in your smart phone,
"Media is not formatted would you like to format now?" error,

... ...

you need to fix sd memory card errors first and them format you sd card.

I am not sure this will work, just a suggestion

Try inserting the micro sd card in the larger sd adapter that will allow you to put it into your computer reader. Try formatting it there instead

format ur card and ur phone also to format phone dial*#7370#
and try again

There is also a firmware update for the camera on the Konica-Minolta website. I have not been able to get the update to work following the directions provided. This update is supposed to fix the 2GB limit. Maybe you will have better luck getting it to work.

The camera has a limit of a 2 GB card , its built into the camera hardware.
