Hello Russel
A L 6 Is Water Drain Time-Out Possible causes are;

b) Motor faulty (pumps group/ drain impeller)
c) Pressure switch faulty

TIME-OUT WATER DRAIN ALARM [A L 6] This control procedure is operative in all the drain phases and checks the status of the pressure switch in order to ensure that the cycle is performed correctly. In all the final drain phases, and before passing to the subsequent phase, the pressure switch contact must be open on "empty". (1-2). If the contact is closed on "full" (1-3), the drain phase is repeated At the end of the second drain phase, if the pressure switch contact remains closed on "full" (1-3), an alarm condition is generated.TIME-OUT WATER DRAIN ALARM [A L 6]
This control procedure is operative in all the drain phases and checks the status of the pressure switch in order to ensure that the cycle is performed correctly.
In all the final drain phases, and before passing to the subsequent phase, the pressure switch contact must be open on "empty". (1-2).
If the contact is closed on "full" (1-3), the drain phase is repeated
At the end of the second drain phase, if the pressure switch contact remains closed on "full" (1-3), an alarm condition is generated.

Error codes are brand (and often model) specific. "de" likely indicates something in the defrost process, especially on G.E. Check for ice build-up in the freezer cooling coil. The control board would be suspect, but must be checked to confirm the precise fault.
The shutting down of the oven is due to a defective thermal switch or thermistor. Replacing the thermistor could fix the problem. It is usually located in the inside compartment of the oven and connected to the control panel board.
zanussi zwf1650w washing machine. when starting any program after a few seconds machines stops and shows draining 0.0. have done diagnosis test and shows fault E91 & E48 fault codes also shows E34 code. any help much appreciated.
it may be the WMS is blocked, i get AL5 or AL6 at the start of the program. here is how i have fixed it the last couple of times. WMS is around £70 (in 2010) - i have that on mine every 4yrs or son - i change the WMS sometimes called the water management system or water softener. it located on the left of the machine.
the floor will get wet during this repair.
you need to turn off the power; turn off the water supply; to it take the top off remove the two screws at the back of the lid. then work your way around the left hand side removing the panel retaining screws. once that is off you can see a large blue plastic 'thing' this is the WMS that you need to replace.
to remove this you need to remove the screws around the inlet for the water, i think there are 5 or 6, some are revealed once cover plates are removed.
there are 5 or 6 retaining the WMS; the most important are the tow at the bottom toward the middle.
now gently prise off the WMS releasing the tabs and catches. do not pull it off as there are some connections still to be disconnected. As to lift the WSM at the bottom right, behind the WMS there are three pipes held on with spring clips, these need to be released. then the WMS should lift off.. replacing is the reverse of the above.
i did not find it too difficult other than the last bit with the pipes but you know your abilities. Good Luck
i have this now- another site suggested its the heater, or rater the circuit board. I have just taken it apart and have two dry solder points that are identified quire easily by soot around the area. so now off to find my soldering iron!!
