Canon pixma mp500 wont print

When I try to print or make a copy, it has a message tha says "The type of print head is incorrect. Install the correct print head." What does this mean and how do I fix it?

    I got the same message after using this print head for about two years with no problem.  I have no idea what the print head is or how to replace it.  Can't seem to find useful diagrams anywhere.  All instruction manuals seem to assume a level of expertise I don't have.  Please help me figure out how to get through this.

That suggests Yuo have the wrong cartridge for your machine or you are using a compatable cartridge[same thing] Take a look a www.fixyourownprinter for your particular model.

My Canon Pixma MP500 worked flawlessly until today. The error message on the small screen reads. "The type of print head is incorrect, instal the correct print head. Over to you.
Try reseating print heads:

  • removing:

  • installing:
elessaelle_3.gif elessaelle_2.gif

I have an error on my canon pixma mp500... it says The type of printhead is incorrect. Install the correct print head. I bought some ink that says that it is compatible for my printer and when I tried it...
i would like to suggest that u should not use any alternate cartridges, plizz buy the originally manufactured ones, else ur printer could get damaged! the reason being that the ink head of some compatible cartridges short circuited very easily compared to the genuine ones, and a fake cartridge could damage ur printer in an instance! so, be careful!

I have an printhead error for no reason. Please advise. The message says "The type of print head is incorrect. Install the correct print head.
There is always a reson. Try checking that the cartridge you installed is the correct one for your printer. Some refurbished also cause this problem as they have been recycled too many times.

Canon Pixma MP500 error
ok I figured out what to do. Open the over take out all your ink cartriages. Then flip the print head level on the left hand side up and squeeze the top of the print head (where all your ink sits on) and lift it up. You may want to blow off any dust that may be in there and put the peint head back and replace al your ink put the level down and you should be good to go if not you may have to replace the head.
