I found the following reference to resetting anything related to the ZN110 remote:
"This remote control works well for all the basic functions on the television: changing channels, adjusting volume, and turning the set on and off. There is not a way to program the TV with the remote control, so if you need to reset the channels after a power outage, for example, you have to do it manually on the TV set itself."
Here you go. This will work with most all universal remote controls. If you don't have the code do the following: Automatic Programming With automatic programming, the remote control tests all the codes available on the Code List and assigns the correct code for the selected device. Although this method can be more time-consuming, it eliminates the need to look up codes and enter them manually.
1. Turn off the device with which you want to use the remote control.
2. Press and hold the corresponding button on the remote control (TV, VCR, SAT, DVD, CAB or AUD) until POWER INDICATOR illuminates. It should take a couple of seconds for the light to remain solid. The remote control is in programming mode.
3. Press and release power button. The POWER INDICATOR flashes once and stays on indicating the unit is in Power Scan mode.
4. Press CHANNEL up or CHANNEL down repeatedly until the device turns on.
5. When the device turns on, press OK to store the code.
Note: • To exit without storing the code, press BACK. • T he unit will search for the next code or the previous code if you press CHANNEL up or CHANNEL down after the device turns on. (go slow you need to press OK when the TV turns on) if you mess up turn TV off and start over. 6. Press any other button. If the device responds, the remote control has been programmed. Turn on your TV (or other device). You will have to do this manually until you program your Philips remote control
Look for the "Setup" or "Code Search" button on the Philips remote control. Which button your remote has will depend on the exact Philips remote control you are using. This button may be a different color or may be labeled.
Hold either the "Setup" or "Code Search" button for about 10 seconds. If your remote has a light, the light should begin blinking. If there is no light, you can just count to 10 and then let go of the button.
Press the "TV" button on the remote to program the Philips remote to your television set
Find and press either the "Up" or "Down" channel button on the remote. Continue pressing either button until the television channel changes. This may take several minutes. Once the channel changes, press the "Power" button on the remote to turn off the TV. Your Philips remote will now be programmed to your television.
Be sure that your TV is set to channel 3 or 4 if you are using the RF cable or Video 1, etc if using the Audio/Video cable. The Installation Guide should appear. The "improved" picture that you are seeing is simply the analog throughput, not the digital conversion.
