Put the safe on your lap and bounce it on your knees and keep tying to turn the knob I had it opened in less then 10 seconds! And the batteries were dead this really does work.

Weird, I know, but I held the safe on my lap and jiggled my knees up and down slightly.... and it shook the latch open.... these are great safes by the way LOL bolted down is probably the safest way to go once you get into it.... but that's how I got into mine. Then used the red button on the inside of the hinge to reset the code
Thanks for the knee **** concept. 3 seconds later got it open. Cleaned it out. 2 more seconds it hit the trash bin.

I had the same problem i took a long screwdriver reached in through one of the mounting holes in the back and pressed the red button to set the combo when the yellow light on the front come on i entered a new combo pressed the A button and it opened hope it helps you. you can shine a light in one hole look through one hole and a screwdriver in one

I thought this "jiggle on your knees" solution was just a mean joke, but this comment and other success stories I heard convinced me to try it... AND IT WORKED! thank you thank you, and thank God.

I have had my Gordon safe for about 20 years. Everytime the batteries go dead you can't open the door. I put the safe on my knees & bounce it up & down turning the knob & it opens every time.
Work like a charm within four bounces door opened
