Crane 4401 toliet leaks around flapper.. however it does not have a conventional flapper.. it has a round open ended device that is supposed to lift and float back down and close so the tank can fill. I think it is a design problem. what is the solution? looks like I will have to take the tank off to replace the device..

Not familiar with this one, but Korky says they have a replacement flapper that will fit. I haven't seen a topilet that requires tank removal to replace the fill valve.

SOURCE: My Crane toilet is slowly leaking into the bowl.

Check your over flow pipe in the tank to see if you need to lower the water level amount in the tank. If thats not it, it could be the seal thats under your flapper between the tank and base. Simple fix just alittle time consuming

SOURCE: I have a crane 3-575

That would mean the actual tubing itself has a leak in it or has just worn out. You can replace the whole line there with a new one, I doubt it's the attachment side which is part of your toilet. You are going to want to look into a new line, just head to home depot or lowes (or any hardware store) and get one.

Thanks
Tim

My toliet keeps running. Have checked valves flap etc. I turned the water off , using the little toliet tap. Can I turn it on too much, making the pressure to high??

Replace the flapper. That is cheap to do. You can turn the water on near wide open And it should be ok. In other words, if you can't turn it on wide open, then something is wrong. I would just turn it on about 3/4.make sure your flat is not allowing the water to go over the top of the open tube.in the tank.

Vitra 1.6 gpf toliet, filling every 20 minutes Is there any leak?

Well, yes, there must be a leak. look at the flapper valve for build up or distortion/ deterioration.

My Crane toilet is slowly leaking into the bowl. It is not the flapper (which I replaced) and doesn't seem to be from high water pressure. Could it be the seal?

Water is leaking out , close water off then water in tank goes empty. when water on you can hear water runing in tank

Your flush valve (flapper) is leaking. Some of these rubber flappers snap on to posts. Others, slide down the overflow tube. Others are the plunger type that lift straight up and down (some of these have a gasket on the bottom that go bad.) In any case be sure flapper closes properly. Make sure the chain to the handle isn't so long as to get between valve and seat holding flapper open. If all else fails buy a fluidmasgter flush fixer repair kit and follow directions. I had a similar problem one winter and wasted about 200.00 on water.,

Toliet won't get rid of solids

first shorten the chain from flush lever to the flapper valve by one or two links at a time until flushing properly

second the flapper valve might need a wipedown as well as its seal (top edge of tube where water goes down into bowl) the leaking is because the flapper valve is not seating properly.. you may need to replace the flapper itself.. easy to do, and a common part at hardware store.

Tilet want flush no pressure when depressing

Take off the top lid and look at the flush handle mechanism. You'll see a not that holds it onto the tank. Tighten the nut so it is snug. Don't overtighten it or you could crack the tank. Next inspect the chain that goes between the end of the flush handle rod and the flapper valve. It should lift the flapper all the the way up when you operate the handle.

Crane toilets don't flush properly, ball comes down too quickly

adjust the flappers-- either adjust the length of the lift line-from flapper to handle and or the flapper itself not properly mounted on tank seat
