SOURCE: d-link DGL-4500 is not accessing my dsl modem

make sure the dsl modem is in bridge mode. you do this by connecting directly to the modem then accessing modem configuration page. after doing this connect the way everything was before. now go to router admin page, then setup tab at the top, then choose internet, manual setup. in the place where its says my internet connection is select PPPoE. then put in your dsl username, password and etc. save settings. this should fix the problem

SOURCE: Unable to access DLink WBR 2310 Configuration page

Reset the router first, press the reset pinhole on the back for 10 seconds using a paper clip, don't press it too much or it will mess up the settings of the router. then try to access again the configuration page.

SOURCE: How to connect wireless router to adsl router?

You're wanting to connect the directly connect the DI-514 to the ASDL modem to give you a wireless network, right? If so here's what you do:
Connect an ethernet line from the modem to the Internet/Wan port of your DI-514 and then you're set. I recommend you then follow the directions in the manual to setup wireless security.

If you're wanting to have your DI-514 wirelessly connect to the ASDL modem, then connect your PC to one of the LAN ports of the DI-514 and open the administrative web interface (usually located at http://192.168.0.1) and go to the wireless section and select "Wireless Client" and input the MAC of the ASDL modem's wireless interface (you can find this on the administration web interface of the ASDL modem) and you should be good to go.

A friend of mine has this D-Link DSL-2750U router & is trying to connect his cable internet to the router but failing to do so. We suspect it is a purely ADSL router & does not support ethernet connection...

You need a router which connects to ethernet..ADSL is connected by RJ45(Telephone connection) ... Many cable companies include a router in the Modem (Verizon) others need a router to do wireless which gets connected between the PC and the Modem . the DSL-2750U is well over $2000.00.. a normal wireless router is $50-$100... a regular router gets connected by ethernet to Modem and router ,, then has 4 other connectors .. ehternet to PC.. Also requires power supply. .. wireless has to be setup for the software.

ADSL modem is not compatable with ADSL 2+ router's. You could get the exchange from the shop to ADSL router if its still under warranty.

I recently moved from Cable ISP to DSL ISP service. For the DSL service, I was asked to configure my Router to use PPPoE with Dynamic IP addressing. I also provided the router with my username and password...

The reason you have no internet is because the router is specifically for cable. your description contains errors what i think you mean is that you have gone from cable dsl to an adsl, correct me if i am wrong. Basically your modem connected to your router via an ethernet cable and then the router fed the wireless signal to your wireless devices or via ethernet through the 4 ports in the back. With adsl you have a feed from your phone line to an adsl modem so the only way for you to get the dsl router working is to have two ethernet leads connecting to your pc, one from the modem to the pc and one from the pc to the router. You would also need to setup internet sharing on the pc thats connected to both devices.

Either do it that way or buy an adsl router
