FIrst off be sure you have the correct size line. Poulan uses several sizes of fuel line. If you got the wrong one, you won't get it to go in. The best way is to cut the tip of the fuel line at an angle. If you warm the fuel line before inserting it, it will go in easier. Once you get it forced in a little ways, you can reach in with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull on the fuel line while pushing it in from the outside. If you bought the line from a Poulan dealer, then instructions would be included along with the end being precut at a long angle to assist with installation.

The smaller line comes from the fuel filter in the tank to the nipple on the side of the carb with the cover w/ 1large screw in the center, the other small line goes from the other nipple on the carb to the primer bulb, the larger line goes from the other nipple on the primer bulb back to the tank, and only gets pushed in about 1/2-3/4" into the tank.
