Maybe, there are programs that retrieve deleted files, but sadly you need to buy them.

this only works if you havn't added any new voice recording (or a lot of voice recordings) or if you havn't reformatted your player.

I accidentally erased some files on one folder, then recorded over them. Is it possible to recover them? How? Thank you.

You should connect your recorder to PC and then you can try to recover your files and folders with Easy Drive Data Recovery software:

http://www.munsoft.com/EasyDriveDataRecovery/

It uses unique modern algorithms to recover files that other software either recovers incorrectly or is unable to detect.

You may try some recovery software to rescue the voice files on your recorder, here are some for your option.

Photo Video Audio Recovery (for Windows)
Photo Video Audio Recovery for Mac

Both programs can also recover video and audio items.

Note: Before your files are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the voice recorder in case the original files(your recordings) are overwritten.

Problems in transferring voice (lecture) files to Mac

WMA is a windows standard. You can get the free components for Quicktime from Microsoft's web site. This should solve your problem.

I deleted a recorded file by mistake from the DWP vn-480 series and am trying hard to retrieve it somehow!! Is there any hope of retrieval???

Unfortunately this recorder model is designed with flash memory and once the files are erased they are gone. There are some companies that do specialize in flash memory recovery (Olympus is not one of them). You can go to google and search for flash memory recovery specialists. However this is a very costly process as it involves sending the device to these companies for them to do the recovery process.

Not playing full recording

Hi,
Maybe it's the preview play option of the player that you are using. It only plays a part of the recording for you to identify if it is the right recording that you are trying to find because the recorded allows you to record more than one file.

IHP120 20gb multicodecjukebox-voice recording

Sir,
I solved the problem .Actually under the SOURCE title it was under the LINE IN.There were some more options like INT.MIKE, EXT.MIKE, OPTICAL. So i first tried under external mike by connecting to the EXT.mike and selected the source and by removing the external mike switched to Int. mike and changed the source. It automatically picked according to the source and played the recording and saved it in the file and later heard the lecture with the head phone and later converted in to a file in the laptop. Now it is working nicely. A really a good product to make use and it is very much user friendly.
Thanks again.

None of the CD burning programs seem to work using the wav. files created by the recorder

maybe, you got those wav. files copy controlled. check out the relevant preferences from the voice recorder menus. if this solution doesn't work, simply convert the files into mp3, then convert them into wav. again. I hope this could help..
