I can't work out how to change the default input Sony KV-24WX1U

There is a TV/VIDEO button on frond panel of the tv. When you press each time this button then you will able to access different video inputs. if the button is inactive the probably the micro switch for TV/VIDEO button may be faulty. also check the same with the remote. If its doesn't help then try to reset the tv to factory default setting. For that you need the remote. Keep in mind that when you reset the tv to factory default setting all the memorized parameters will erased(like channel memory, personal preference setting etc ). For reseting the tv to factory default do the following

1.Turn on the TV.
2.While holding down the RESET button on the
remote control, press the POWER button on the TV front panel.
The TV will turn itself off, then back on again. Release the
RESET button

It is not very easy an almost impossible to describe all the proceedings to enter the service mode to KV series Sony sets here. Just enter this link and select the site named Electro-help for more detailed discriptions.

If the set goes to all the inputs and works and only will not go out when display is pressed (if display works on the other inputs) the set may need to be reset to factory default or in some cases in the tech menu it may have the wrong number code listed for that input.

Problem is only on one input?

We are having the same problem! Whats the solution!!!?!?!?!?!!!?

How much later? The Sony sets have a setting in the menu that turnes the TV off if there isnt' any input, Sometimes this feature gets messed up, and the feature has to be turned off, Check that out and see if that takes care of the problem.

I had the same problem with a Sony Trinitron KV-32FS320 32" TV. I reset the remote to factory default.

• Press and hold STB
• While holding STB, press OK
• Release both keys, wait for device keys to blink twice
• Press 9-0-0. The STB key will blink three times

Then I reprogrammed the TV control.

• Turn your television on
• Press STB to enter Set Top Box mode
• Press and hold TV
• While holding TV, press OK
• Release both keys, wait for device keys to blink twice
• Press 1-1-2-7. This is one of the Sony TV codes

After this, the volume + and - worked to control the TV.

• Program any other devices, such as DVD using procedure similar to above.

Well 5 times blinking indicates EEPROM ic getting malfunction. Change this ic tv is working well and good. Note that this ic comes only in blank you have to program it as your tv model.

I guess you mean RF input for the dish, then the problem is with the tuner section. Try replacing the tuner, it is not so costly.
