My son gave me his Samsung Napster YH-920 and his computer with the installed Napster software. The YH-920 worked perfectly, but I didn't like his songlist. I used the Napster restore utility on his PC to remove all of his songs. I've been struggling with both Windows Media Player 11 and then Real Player 10.5 on my own PC to transfer music from my PC to the YH-920. With either of those 2 programs, when the YH-920 is connected to my PC with a USB cable everything seems to work OK, i.e., I can transfer my own songs to the YH-920 and see those files actually installed on the YH-920. Problem occurs when I disconnect the YH-920 from the PC. The only thing I can use is the FM radio. None of the songs that I previously transferred are recognized by the YH-920. It acts as if no song files exist even though I saw them on the YH-920 when I was in Windows Media Player and/or Real Player. Any ideas on how to get the YH-920 to recognize and play the transferred song files will be greatly appreciated. I'm pretty frustrated at this point. Thanks, Hank Jr
Yea stick with media player 10
Hi, i have that same player, and it worked perfectly with windows media player 10. however, since getting a new computer and the new windows media player 11, i'm having the same problem! you cant find your songs on the player because media player is storing them in the wrong part of the mp3 player, the part that can be used to store documents and things like that? i think it needs some kind of upgrade but haven't been able to find it yet. so apart from suggesting you try using media player 10 instead im sorry i cant be much help, just thought it might help to know why you cant find your songs! Jess
Make sure to use the applet in the system tray (bottom right corner) that when left clicked, opens a list of available usb devices to stop before disconnecting.

Good advice 24 seven, now I am able to "safely" disconnect the YH-920 from my PC in Windows Media Player (I didn't know how to do so prior to your post). I still have the same problem, however, i.e., I'll sync (transfer) to my YH-920 some song files using Windows Media Player 11. I see it happening on both the Windows Media Player screen as well as the YH-920 screen. When finished, Windows Media Player shows that the YH-920 contains the song files I just synced (transferred). I click the applet as you suggested and am told by Windows Media Player that I can safely remove the YH-920 (the YH-920 screen now says "Disconnected"). I then remove the YH-920 from its base and the main menu appears on the YH-920. I select "Library", then "Artist" or "Albums" or "Tracks", etc. and the words "No results" appear on the YH-920 screen as if it contains no song files even though I know I just synced (transferred) them using Windows Media Player. So again, the only thing that allows me to hear music on the YH-920 is the FM Radio. Still frustrated and still looking forward to some more help.
Thanks,

i have the same player and same prob.
best solution is to copy and paste files to the hidden directory /system/music then run the rebuild feature on pmplib
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pmplib/
bit of a pain but even the new samsung multimedia studio doesnt transfer music properly
the only real solution is to roll back wmp 11 back to wmp 10 as the firmware is out dated and a great big thnaks to samsung who never bothered to release an up date. from what i can gather it is a really great mp3 player and data storage device but in the quickly changing world of mp3 players it was left behind and forgotten about so samsung did keep support the users of yh-920. pity really.
