Gleb30tsa my duble oven self cleaning feature will not work. i tried to self clean my oven, i got an f90 blinking light. now my oven door is locked.please help

  • helpaz Aug 05, 2008

The oven worked fine until I tried to use the self-cleaning feature for the first time since in 4 of years of owning it. Before the cycle started, I opened the door to remove a rack I forgot about. The oven then stopped, giving me an "F9" code. The "door locked" indicator is still flashing & oven is inoperable since. Turned off breaker for an hour & still no change.

Manual says to "reprogram" oven if this code appears. Yet manual does not say HOW to reprogram. Frigidaire refuses to say how, only that a repairman is authorized to do so.

I suspect a latch motor microswitch or automatic door switch problem. Any suggestions before having to pay a repairman? Thanks for any help.

Gaggenau oven not self cleaning.

The self cleaning features only serves to keep manufacturers in steady sales of parts. Quite simply the oven can only take those temperatures a few times until they break. The heat burns out elements, damages fans, door locks and worst of all damages control boards which are not far enough from the heat source. It sounds like your control board is fried. Try turning it of at the breaker for 15 minutes by way of a reset.

Never use the self cleaning feature as stated here

What does error code F-90 mean on a Kenmore delf cleaning wall oven

The F90 error code indicates that the door unlock time exceeded. This will happen if the lock is in the locked position with the oven door open or if the lock motor fails. Have someone hold in the oven door light switch while you set the control up for the self-cleaning cycle. Let the self-cleaning cycle run for only 4-5 minutes then press stop/cancel. This should allow the lock assembly to reset & retract the door lock back into the unlocked position.

You can also try resetting the appliance by disconnecting it from the outlet or switch off the circuit breaker for 20-30 minutes. Once power is restored run a test cycle. If this does not work I suspect a door lock assembly failure. This type of diagnosing will require accessing the lock assembly & using a volt/ohm meter for testing

Frigidaire electric wall oven wont open error code f90

Error Code E90 typically means that you have a faulty motor door latch, lock motor assembly, door light switch or a defective EOC. You would need this to be diagnosed by a professional technician in order to properly repair the wall oven.

Door lock light blinking ,oven wont work on a older gibson self cleaning oven.

It sounds to me that the door lock switch itself is stuck in the "on" position. If you don't use the self-cleaning feature, I would suggest simply disconnecting the switch. If you DO use the self-cleaning feature, you may want to consider replacing the switch or inspect it to make sure there isn't debris, grease, etc., stuck in it, making it stuck on all the time.

I hope this helps! :) Please let me know if you need any further assistance in this matter and I'll be more than happy to help!
