No spark on my 1989 evinrude boat motor

Make sure you didnt get water in your lower end

so the engine runs or just cranks with the starter? will the gear lever move? with the cover off the engine can you see the linkage moving? i cant help if i dont have details

starter or battery not sufficient capacity to crank the engine fast enough under compression

Hi have you tried it with the stop switchl/button disconnected, if so you have only got the stator under the flywheel left to replace, regards Phil.

remove spark plugs and you should be able to rotate the flywheel easy ! then try starter to spin over , if not then remove starter and check the brushes inside etc ! check solinoide ok ! check wires ok !

is it cranking correctly ? compressions over 100psi and 2 sparks etc ?

Check- Do You Have Spark At The Spark Plugs?If Not Then It Could Be Stator Or CDI Unit Or Trigger, If Yes Good!
Have Carburetor ('s)Got Fuel In Them? ,If Not Clean Carb's.
If Both Are Correct It Should At Least Fire
