You need to adjust your two tensions to work with each other. Bobbin tension is often the culprit, make sure your top tension is set somewhere in the middle, and then adjust your bobbin tension by tiny turns and then test it. If you're using a flimsy fabric, you may need to adjust both top and bottom tensions slightly to compensate. Please also be sure to clean and oil your machine according to the manufacturer's guidelines as well as re-threading the machine and wind a new bobbin before you tackle the tension.
Without more description of the stitch symptoms, the only suggestion is that the tension is too loose. Whether it is the upper, bobbin, or both tensions, we cannot answer without more information.
Skipped stitches
1. The needle is not inserted correctly
Remove needle & reinsert needle( flat side towards the back of machine)
2. The needle is damaged
replace with new needle
3. The wrong size needle is being used
Choose a needle to suit the thread & fabric
4. The foot not attached correctly
Check & attach correctly
Set the top tension as recommended by the mfg - this is usually between 3 - 6.
Now re-thread the machine with the presser foot up and see if this doesn't eliminated the loopy stitches.
What appears to be an issue with the bobbin may actually be the top thread was not seated into the tension during threading and the tension cannot control the flow of thread to the needle and you get a loopy stitch.
Keep the bobbin case clean as built-up lint can cause stitching problems.
There are tow places where the thread tension is adjusted.
One is bobbin. This is not routinely adjusted. Just once and it is good for long time. This is done by turning the only screw on bobbin by about 1/4 turn or so at a time. Try several settings until you find he best.
the other place is the conventionally on body of the machine.
Tension of bottom stitch or top stitch are very confusing words. meaning difft things to difft pple. All i can say is this. If u see bottom stitch run straight through loops of top thread. then either top tension is too loose or bottom too tight. and vise versa.
With top tension set to middle position adjust the bobbin to get correct stitch. Then later on all u need is to adjust only the top setting according to stitch and cloth
Check the bobbin to ensure it is installed correctly. Your bobbin is probably in incorrectly. You shouldn't have to change your tention yet but it is possible. this may sound stupid but the other culprit may be that your forgot to put the foot down. Hope this helps. Let us know. If you found that the tension adjustment did help call your local service center and ask for the in-house tech, ask them where the original # position is when it came from the manufacturer and re-adjust the top tention to that.
It sounds like you may have uneven tension between the bobbin thread and the upper thread.
You can adjust the tension via a screw on the bobbin case. Turn it clockwise to tighten the bobbin thread tension and counter clockwise to reduce it.
It's also worth remembering to check the tension on the presser foot for the material you are using. Check also that the shuttle race is clear of lint etc.
Hope this helps
