Sim card How in the world do I insert a sim card? Book says to insert it with gold area down and beveled corner towards beveled edge of phone.Tracfone rep says to lift up a metal piece in sim card compartment to insert it. How do I know where to lift it up without breaking it?

To insert or remove the SIM card, follow these steps:



Press down on the middle of the battery cover and slide the cover away. image002 (1).gif

Slide the SIM card into the SIM card holder with the contacts facing down and the notched corner facing the side the phone. image006.gif
Replace the battery by aligning the gold contacts on the battery with the gold contact in the battery compartment.


Replace the battery cover and snap into place.

1. Remove the back cover by lifting it from the bottom end of the device. 2. Lift the cover off.
3. To remove the battery, lift it from the end.
4. Slide the SIMcard into the SIM card holder. Make sure that the gold-coloured
contact area on the card is facing
down on the device, and the
bevelled corner is facing toward
the card holder slot.
5. Replace the battery.
6. Replace the back cover.

Let me give you the steps on how to insert the sim card on your phone.
First,kindly switch off the power and disconnect the charger and any other device before removing the covers. Avoid touching electronic components while changing the
covers. Always store and use the device with the covers attached.The SIM card and its contacts can be easily damaged by scratches or bending, so becareful when handling, inserting, or removing the card.
For you to be able to remove the back cover is that you have the press the back part of the phone gently and slide down the back plate of your phone.And after that kindly remove the cover and the battery.Please open the SIM card holder and insert the SIM card into the holder with the bevelled
corner facing down and the contact surface area facing toward the contacts of
the device. Close the SIM card holder.
Line up the battery contacts, and insert the battery. Replace the back cover.

remove the back cover and the battery and look for the little picture that looks like a SIM card and insert the sim card with the gold part facing down and the cut corner of the card towards the camera lens.

The SIM card goes under the battery in the back of the phone. First you'll need to remove the battery cover, then remove the battery. Insert the SIM card with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner toward the inside. Reinsert the battery and close the cover. I hope this helps. Good luck

1. Press and slide the back cover toward the top of the
phone to remove the cover .
2. To remove the battery, lift it as shown
3. Carefully lift the SIM card holder from the finger grip
of the phone, and open the flip cover
4. Insert the SIM card, so that the bevelled corner is on
the upper left side and the gold-colored contact area
facing downward.Close the SIM card holder, and
press it to lock it into place
5. Insert the battery into the battery slot
6. Align the back cover with the back of the phone. Slide
and push it toward the bottom of the phone to lock it

Remove the battery cover (bottom half of the back of the phone) by gently pressing in and sliding down. Remove the battery, and the SIM card goes under the metal holder. Look carefully for the symbol that shows where the "cut corner" goes, and make sure the gold contacts on the SIM are facing down (ie towards the phone).

Hi I got the same phone today.
I assume you are trying to install the SIM card as you stated and not the memory SD card as some are talking about.
My manual just shows a picture!
Take out the battery hold the phone with the bottom toward you look at the hole where the battery was.
On the bottom of the square there is a slot in the middle that the SIM card slides into.
THE NOTCH ON THE SIM IS TO THE BOTTOM LEFT CORNER.
Place the SIM card flat against the bottom of the hole where the battery was with the notch as stated and slide it down towards you into place. The SIM just about disappears into the bottom edge of the battery hole. Thats what my manual showed about inserting theSIM card.
Haven't inserted a SD card yet.Hope this helps.
