Charging minolta f100

I just bought a charger for the Dimage F100 and the book says to take the battery out before charging and it doesn't say how long to charge it. So do you have to have the charger plugged in to get it to work or what?
Thank you for your help

The minolta manual says to take the battery out of the camera while I'm charging it with the AC adapter.I guess my question is,how is the camera going to hold a charge without a battery in it? There were no instructions or anything about how to do it outside of taking the battery out of the camera and turn the camera off when I plug the camera in and turn it on once you plug it in.So anyway that is why I sent you an e-mail. Thank you for your help

If I underastand you question correctly . The battery fits into the charger while charging. How long. Over night should do it as I am sure the charger has a built in regulator. As to the using the Camera while charging, either purchase another battery or not use it. Have I understood correctly?

SOURCE: Minolta digital camera F100

could be that the pad the button is supposed to press is not alligned with the button. it would take opening the camera, and thats already something that you shouldn't do if you're not comfortable with it. I suggest you call minolta, and see how much they want for looking at it. that might already be a sum that will get you frustrated enough to open it up yourself, but it's worth a try. Good luck

SOURCE: minolta dimage f100 lens sticks

I had a similar problem.

I'd left the camera unused for over a year...then came to use it, installed new fully charged-up NiMh batteries, but no response at all from the camera.

I found a small black plastic clip inside the battery compartment, close to the opening. It ended up being some kind of reset switch. I depressed this for about five seconds, then installed the batteries and the camera came back to life, as it used to.

Hope this helps.

I bought sandisk(SDHCcard 4GB) but my camera is unable to use what can be the problem.

The F100 works with MMC and SD cards. It will not work with SDHC cards. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

My dimage f100 is reading batteries that I know are full, as being low/empty. The screen pops on briefly and the lens moves in and out, but then it shuts down. Any suggestions?
