Ensure the map data dvd that you have for the car covers the uk. it might only cover mainland europe is should state GB on the packaging or on the disk itself.
alteratively in the set up the previous owner may have removed uk maping or uk post codes from the system and they may needed to be reloaded.

if your system an navteq one prior to 2003? it is known that the mapping from that period did not support uk post codes i assume buying a new mapping software will resolve this issue. I would recommend checking with jaguar in case any system software upgrade is also needed to read later mapping data versions.

I have an 03 s type, the navigation dvd reader is in the trunk on the driver's side with a small compartment you pull down and push the only button and the tray opens and closes. With a newer dvd you will need to go back into the navigation settings and update some basic info.

I assume you have a jaguar sat-nav system installed. To update you can buy an updated disc which is compatible to your car system and which will contain all new information/routes etc. simply load this into you unit and follow any instructions. Hope this helps - good luck!
