Wet/dry Panasonic shaver stopped

My Panasonic ES8075 shaver (same as 8077) suddenly would not turn on. It is charged, but on/off button won't work. The shaver is only 18 months old.

wet/dry Panasonic shaver stopped - 503d300.jpg
My model is almost the same as your model ...

Problem: Model ES7037CMB - Over the past month the Panasonic shaver would turn on with 3-4 tries, but now will not turn on at all – the on-off switch must be bad after only 7 months of wet use. Before sending in I found this diagram:

Disassembly: Remove bottom Phillips screw & end cap, pop off each plastic side with fingernails (reinstall them from top 1st), remove 4 screws, remove 2 clips, take top off. Remove battery case and the on-off little, white plastic lever fell out. Slide off the white plastic/metal on-off slider & clean contacts with knife … my bottom contact was black & top was clean.

Assembly: Reinstall on-off slider (white plastic with metal contacts) by sliding back in grooves -- hardest part - place the on-off plastic lever on the battery back unit – I tried to put it on the case and could not get it to stay on. Slide the battery pack back in with the plug prongs in the holes in the end being careful not to drop the on-off lever. Test shaver. Stuff battery wires inside case – screw 4 screws and add 2 clips on, then final screw in the end after cap placed on. Easy once I knew how to put the on-off lever on the battery side – that was tricky. Total time was about 1 hour – next time it will be about 15 minutes. Works great! jgg 12-27-08. Think I will use it dry from now own since it had a lot of whiskers inside of it and maybe wash only the head as needed with baby shampoo.

Could not get the YouTube link above to work so I will paste it below:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9b7lf5hqj...

Use that link to disassemble and clean the switch then put it back together.

All newer Panasonic Wet/Dry Shavers are probably the same.

    Good Luck!

Do you think a 1000uf, 25 volt capacitor will fit inside a shaver?

The contact switches for power button have developed "arcing pits" and are now providing a much smaller surface area to transfer motor-starting current. a fix is to disassemble and polish these contacts. the final solution (but not required) is a 1000uF, 25V capacitor soldered in parallel with the switch to absorb motor-starting "back-emf" current.

Philips Shaver Faulty

Replacement under warranty involves promising to remove the battery from the old shaver and disposing of the battery and the carcass in an environmentally safe way.

The shaver can be split apart after removing three torx screws and then prising the plastic parts apart against their clips. Be VERY careful when releasing the plastic clips inside because they are brittle and fragile.

On opening the cover containing the battery, motor and control circuitry the ingress of water was clear. The shaver is supposed to be wet and dry, has only been used dry but the exterior has been washed.

The water was displaced using WD40. The shaver operated normally straight away. If your shaver's motor starts with the button but stops again half a second later, the problem might be caused by water ingress.

Where can I find a replacement battery for a Panasonic ES4011 wet/dry shaver? I have looked everywhere. THANKS!

Panasonic does not sell the specialized batteries for their shavers. Your best bet would be to purchase one of the models that replaced it. I have included links to two models below. These are very similar to model ES4011 and use the same shaver head as your model

I need a battery for Panasonic E366 electric shaver. Anyone know where to get one?

Panasonic does not market these specialized batteries to be sold. You can only have the battery changed by the Panasonic service center in New York or San Francisco and it will cost you more to have it replaced than you paid for the shaver.
I suggest that you simply purchase the shaver that replaced this model. It uses the same foil and cutter as model ES366 and works the same way too. You will find it at shaveroutlet.com at the link below

Shaver wet/dry ES2045 - need a manual

I have a manual. You have to make sure it is in the charge position when it charges. Mine is totally charged, but only the epilator hehad works, the shave head does not. I think there is a problem with it.
