Question about Televison & Video
If still the sound is working but with out any picture the cause would be a screen back light failure or malfunction in the t-con board. if the totally black screen it was a failure in the back light, you will need to remove the back cover to access this part. it was located at the upper and lower portion of the panel display covered with metal shield.now if the display is only a white screen you can see it in dark room, then the cause will be a failure in the t-con board. the t-con board was mounted underneath covered with metal shield.before you come up with trouble shooting the t-con board tried first with re seat the connectors which have loose contact.hope this can help good luck.

SOURCE: Protron PLTV-32CM LCD no picture
This TV set is still under the warranty and it seems proton has no local service available to you. I know its to late to tell you this but anytime you purchase a set, ask first and see if there is a service local to you. Ok enough of that noise.. I would go back to the store where it was purchaced and ask them if they know of any local shops that handle the warranty repairs.. If you want to pay for the repair, and that will most likly be alot for a flat panel set, You will have to call back proton and ask about the shipping cost and whos responsible for that.

Go buy a CRT television for $200 and chunk that HD TV. All of them are made in China with the same poor quality. Why seemingly smart Americans would pay good money for such junk is beyond me. The LCDs are a cash cow for the monitor and TV industry as they are well aware the inverter boards will fail within 3 years time. The old CRT tvs will work for the next 15 - 20 years without failure. Get you a good ole 36 in sony black stripe tube and kiss the LCD crowd good by.
