For some unknown reason Apple changed the ipod Nano 4th generation so that it will not charge from any FireWire based power sources. The i-f2 uses the Firewire system. I do not know if there are other Speaker Docks that will work with and charge the 4th generation Nano.

The altec lansing inmotion does not charge my new ipod nano. What I can do

Maybe this could be the solution...

"...
Important Note: iPods released since Sept 2008 (e.g. Touch 2nd Gen, 4th Gen iPod Nano and iPod Classic 120 Gigabyte, iPhone 3g and onwards) have an updated dock connector that means older revisions of speaker dock may not be able to charge these newer models of iPod/iPhone. Older docks should play music from these newer models with no problem.
The problem with charging is due to Apple removing support for 12v (firewire) charging on these new models of iPod/iPhone. Only 5v (USB) charging is supported on these new models. ..."

Ipod 4th gen "charging not supported"

It does that to my iPhone; if I want to charge I have to use a separate cable and run the audio into the aux. Defeats the whole purpose of a dock if you ask me, but I guess they never anticipated what they'd have to do to charge the new iPhone batteries back when they designed the pre-G3-phone docks.

Unsupported docking for Nano Chromatic

Your docking stations support the previous generation nanos but not current. If you can, return the docks otherwise you'll have to fork over the cash for a new one.

Docking station

Hi!

I would suggest that you by-pass any docking stations and connect it directly via usb charger as most ipods do. And also, try to update Itunes and your Ipod Nano software.

Thanks and good luck! =)

Does the aj300D speaker dock charge and play the new iPod nano 4t

nano 4th does not support firewire anymore, best option is to bring your AJ300D back to where you bought it. Philips claim that nano 4th is supported is not true.

Ipod nano not charging on docking system, it has low battery if none, can play with a little charge on ipod but has to be charged with plug first, the docking system is brand new aswell and is charging...

for some **** reason the new ipod nano (4th generation) does not support FireWire and therefore will not charge on any docking station that is a FireWire power sorce - which seems to be most of them out there!
have same problem so will end up charging from computer as docking station still plays the new nano, no point in buying new docking station just for sake of charging!
