I have a lexmark all in one ink jet printer x4250 and windows vista. When I go to printr from the computer, it only prints1/8- 1/2 page, stops, then spits it out. If it is a 2 page document, it might print one page, but not the other. What it prints is all distorted, many lines typed on top of each other. I have rung lexmark who tried for over 5 hours by changing print settings, to no avail. I have rung HP ( the computer maker) and also windows. A computer shop said they coulodn't fix it either. I have down loaded the right program as guided by your fixya people, still no change. Thanks Annette

I have an x4550, running windows vista basic on an hp dv6000t notebook. i had the same problem. i contacted online lexmark tech and here's the solution that worked for me, thanks to help from lexmark (transcript of chat):

Please follow the steps given below to change the spool data format:
1. Click on "Start," "Control Panel," "Hardware and Sound" and "Printers."
2. Then, right click on the Lexmark printer icon and left click "Properties."
3. Either on the "Advanced" tab or the "General" tab for some models, there is a "Print Processor" button, left click it.
4. This is the spool format setting. It should be set to the default to "LEMF." Change it to "Lexmark." Under "Default datatype," select "NT EMF 1.008."
5. Click "OK" and exit back out to your desktop.
6. Please try printing again.

if your taskbar displays printer icon on system tray double click on that & delete all privious prints.

select the text or area which you want to print. & give print command, & Click on print selection button & then Print.

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
