SOURCE: Whirlpool Duet Sport not running it makes clicks and it grinds
A common problem with noises from washing machines has been the under wire that may come out of small clothes. In the washer they can get stuck in one of the inner basket holes and make a scrapping noise, they can actually make there way into the pump and jam the pump, or make a terrible noise when the pump is running. Grab a flash light and have a peek inside the washer for this. Front load washers seem very common to this happen! If the tiny cloth is showing signs of fraying, may be best not to wash it in the washing machine, replace the cloth.=======
It's noisy
Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
SOURCE: Agitator disengages intermittently during washing.
On a Whirlpool manufactured washer, the problem may be very simple, inexpensive and easy to repair.
Whirlpool uses a split agitator design. The upper portion is called the auger, while the bottom is called the agitator. Between these components is a agitator cam assembly. This problem is commonly caused by either worn agitator dogs, a worn agitator cam assembly, or a loose agitator bolt. The following link explains what the dogs are and how to replace them:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608577-replacing_agitator_dogs
The part number is included in the link provided. You can purchase replacements at pcappliancerepair.com for about $5. For a little more you can purchase the entire cam replacement kit, which includes the cam, the thrust bearing, and the dogs for about $11 or $12.
NOTE: You can refer to the excellent exploded view parts diagrams the web site has to offer for assistance. Whirlpool also recommends the application of a little grease on the thrust washer. The part number for their recommended grease is AP3098553.
If you have any questions about this repair, please post back with your complete model number (located on a nameplate along the wash tub opening under the lid) and let me know. I hope this helps you.
NOTE: DO NOT overtighten the agitator bolt. This can cause damage to the plastic, or restrict the agitator movement. Tighten until snug only.
SOURCE: I cannot get my washing
The door lock is a safety and will not run the unit without seeing or sensing the door. Is there something obstructing the lock? Try a magnet over the sensing unit on the right side of the lid opening, its a reed switch. If you hear a click the unit is working, if not there is a connection issue with the switch. Good luck

SENSING Page 5
When the START/PAUSE/Unlock Lid is pressed, the washer will first perform a self-test on the lid lock mechanism. You will hear a click, the basket will make a slight turn, and the lid will unlock briefly before locking again. Once the lid has locked the second time, the washer will use short, slow spins to estimate the load size. These sensing spins may take 2 to 3 minutes before water is added to the load and you may hear the hum of these spins. If the sensing light is on, then washer is working properly. You will hear the motor turn the basket in short pulses to thoroughly wet the load. The washer will then move the load briefly, pause to allow water to soak in to the load, and resume adding water. This process may repeat until the correct amount of water has been added for the load. You may also hear water flowing through the dispenser, adding detergent to the load.
NOTE: Avoid opening the lid during sensing. The sensing process will start over when the washer is restarted. The sensing light may also come on during the Soak and Wash portions of the cycle. This is normal.
If there's no water, then Page 13
Washer won't run or fill, washer stops working, or wash light remains on (indicating that the washer was unable to fill appropriately)
Check for proper water supply.
Both hoses must be attached and have water flowing to
inlet valve.
Both hot and cold water faucets must be turned on.
Check that inlet valve screens have not become clogged.
Check for any kinks in inlet hoses, which can restrict water flow.
Or you have an inlet valve that is not working
