Hi Jose, do you have connected the card with the AM and FM antennas on your Sony HCD EC55?
If this is the case and you cannot tune in, you have problems in the tuning module
Find a specialized Sony technical service
I hope you can solve the problem

Sony stereo protect mode

If "PROTECT" appears on the display: Immediately unplug the power cord, and check if anything blocking the ventilation holes on the back of the system after "PROTECT" disappears. After you have checked the ventilation holes and found to be all right, reconnect the power cord, and turn on the system. If the issue persists, contact your nearest Sony dealer.

The above is from the manual at http://www.docs.sony.com/release/MHCEC909IP.pdf

It wont turn on, it shows 'push power protect' when you turn it on, or disconnect it and reconnect, i already attempted to disconnect the Sony Stereo MCH-EC909iP Mini Hi-Fi and it shows 'Push Power, P

The only thing I can think of is its goin into protection mode like an amplifier would, you maxed the volume out and it's protecting your speakers or you don't have the right voltage going to it, I can see you don't have it on a straight 120v plug and you might have the wiring wrong on the speakers to it might be too low of a ohm or too high

My sony mini hi-fi deck continue to tell me to i quote 'PUSH POWER;PROTECT' what do i do?plss help.

You PUSH the POWER control (OFF) because it is self protecting.

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or
marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is
running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'nekkid'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as another possible root cause for intermittent shutdown.
