SOURCE: Microwave on its way out?

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount, or a problem on the control panel.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.

Switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

If you think the problem is on the control panel, which we repair these nationwide for $39.95 postpaid.

SOURCE: New Microwave not working

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If it's still not working, you'll need to contact your nearest Panasonic-authorized servicer.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

SOURCE: We have a Panasonic Microwave.

This not good! from your description the problem is in the keypad controller, on the back of the keypad is a circuit board that contains the microprocessor and additional parts that control vital areas of the microwave oven. The leak has penetrated the vital areas where the electronics are housed, I suggest you replace the microwave oven because the cost will probably more than what a new one will run.

Exhaust Fan makes noise

Check to make sure that nothing is obstructing the fan blade causing the noise, if not then the bearings in the fan motor are more than likely going out causing the metal on metal noise.

The microwave does't make any noise ,,,but the count down on clock is working ...light is working but no fan ...or huming noise ...what could it be

HELLO.

The likely thing to be is that the microwave fan is faulty.the solution is to replace the fan.

Needed instrument:Phillips-head screwdriver.

Instructions on how to replace the fan is detailed given below.

    • 1. Unplug the microwave from the wall outlet to prevent an electrical shock while
    • working on the microwave oven.

    • 2 .Remove the screws holding the fan shroud to the top of the microwave oven. Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, turn the screws counterclockwise to back them out of the panel. Set the screws in a safe place so they will be available for installing the new fan.

    • 3.Slide the fan shroud--also referred to as a damper plate--forward, toward the front of the microwave, to remove it. Set the shroud to the side.

    • 4. Lift the fan assembly out of the microwave. An electrical cable and plug is accessible once the fan assembly is out of the way.

    • 5. Unplug the electrical connector from the fan and fully remove the fan assembly.

    • 6. Set the new fan assembly close to the top of the microwave to facilitate plugging the new fan into the microwave's connector. Plug in the fan assembly.

    • 7. Position the new fan in the same orientation as the old fan's before its removal. Lower the fan assembly into position.

    • 8. Slide the fan shroud in place and install the screws to secure the shroud.

    • 9. Tighten the screws with the Phillips-head screwdriver by turning the clockwise.

    • 10. Plug the microwave oven into the wall outlet and test the new fan installation.

My hood fan is making a loud noise, due to it has gotten moisture after a snow storm. Can i spray WD-40 onto fan to quiet the noise?

Usually the fan begins to make noise when the bearings in the fan motor become clogged with dirt or just wear out. You must get access directly to the fan housing and spray the bearings directly. This may consist of taking off a couple panels.

Awful noise when Start pushed. Display has been

You need to decide what's making the noise. Is it an electrical sound or a mechanical sound? If it's a buzzing/humming, the problem is probably with the magnetron or main transformer, the replacement of which might be more expensive than a new oven. If it's a mechanical sound, it may be debris stuck in one of the fans. The inside of a microwave oven is extremely dangerous and can shock you even when it's unplugged. A magnetron can only be replaced by a certified professional. If you don't think it's a problem as simple as a fan, then you should get it looked at by a pro.

Noise of microwave exhaust fan

You can remove the exhaust turbine unit with one screw and reinstall microwave and buy a braun external exhaust unit that fits over the hole where it is at the roof or wall and all of the noise will be outside and it will actually work. It is weather proof and will **** steam or fumes out like the best vacuum cleaner.
