Unless it's broke, about the only servicing needed is occasional lubrication. Access to the rotating parts that need the lubrication requires removal of the plastic housing (front and back) of the machine. Try your hand at removing the covers. If you can't get past that, take it in for servicing.

I need a manual for a New Home sewing machine model # 1300

All the main companies are listed here

https://blog.treasurie.com/sewing-machine-manuals/

This is the go to site for older machines, but is not working for me.

Downloadable Sewing Machine Manuals

http://ismacs.net > free-sewing-machine-manuals-list
New Home: Brochures/maintenance instructions/info etc. New Home attachments. PEGASUS. Various models (parts manuals). PFAFF. Pfaff 463 industrial ...

Google thinks your machine is a Bernina, so New Home would be the Model Name and 1300 is the model number. There is also a Brother 1300. https://www.google.com/search?q=new+home+1300+sewing+machine+manual

Does the 6235 need oiling

Oh YA! Indeed they all should have a 'tuneup' now and then.

What do they check??

GO to GOOGLE and search for: sewing machine service checklist

Next go to "IMAGES" and see MANY checklists of items to accomplish during a service!

Here is ONE example of a nice checklist!

and there is this great list too!

It wont stitch tee/shirt material it misses stitchs

If machine misses stitches consistently, it can be several things.
Needle not installed correctly, not threaded correctly, Bobbin case not installed correctly, make sure the bobbin itself is inserted correctly and spinning in the correct direction.
Finally, machine may need service the timing is off. All actions of a sewing machine are carefully "timed" to form a stitch while sewing. Sewing things that were too heavy for the machine or you hit the bobbin case while sewing can knock the machine out of adjustment.
Let a professional do the maintenance on your machine. Some may opt to show you how to do more in depth maintenance yourself at home.

My Brother pc-420 (Project Runway) machine is only one year old. A few weeks ago, it developed a loud knocking sound while stitching at medium to high speeds. I did the maintenance cleaning recommended...

I would call Brother at 1-800-276-8437 and complain that you took it in to their authorized service center and the problem is even worse. I would try for a new machine or them to send you a call tag to fix it themselves. A machine only a year old should not have that kind of problem. Be assertive and not afraid to speak up. You deserve better service.

The tension on my 1008 is not working correctly. Knots are forming on the underside of the fabric. I have tried adjusting the tension all the way up to 9 and I get the same result.

Refer to your manual for the following:

Cleaning and lubricating (maintenance section).

Threading - sometimes we forget to have the presser foot up and this can have a negative effect on the stitching.

Tension settings.

Needle size and style for the type of sewing being done.

If the problem persits, the machine needs to go into the shop for service. Take a sample of the stitching with you so the tech can see what is or is not happening.

After it has been serviced, ask for a "test-drive" before taking it home.

I need to oil my own machine, Brother Innovis 1500, I bought it in the US and brought it home to Saudi Arabia. The machine began acting up now and I'm trying to find info for oiling it. The under bobbin...

No oiling a computorized sewing machine. These areas are factory sealed and only serviced by a Brother tech.

Refer to the care and maintenance section of the manual for cleaning as this needs to be done more often with sewing/embroidery machines that have the drop-in bobbin.

Look for thread snips and lint.

Raise the needle to it's highest position before removing and replacing the bobbin case.

You can get a manual, if needed at the Brother website to view or download at no cost.

Eventually you will have to take the machine in for service. The site has a dealer locator, if needed.

Machine locked up

Refer to the maintenance section of your manual.

There may be thread in the bobbin area that is causing the jam.

If you cannot resolve this with routine cleaning and maintenance, you will need to take the machine in for service.
