Blank screen

is your Xerox XA7-19i monitor supplied with a fixed DVI-I Single Link cable with Windows Vista?if it has u can connect it via a VGA card which will work with the driver

As a result of this cable configuration recent Nvidia Vista drivers do not detect the monitor causing a blank display and apparent "Hang-up". (Although this is not the case, you simply cannot see what's going on!)
This is a problem that was introduced with the release of new series drivers

Monitor is failing to start although power is on

Sounds like you've got some blown capacitors on the internal hardware of the monitor.

Unless you are a seasoned computer hardware expert or electrical engineer I'd recommend you replace the monitor.

The capacitors that are blown are likely controlling the power aspect of your monitor, and aren't totally defective yet.

Most computer shops would not be able to repair your issue, due to lack of skills related to monitor repair. So you're going to find replacement the easiest / cheapest solution.

Of course you can try to ride out the problem as long as you can. But it will get worse over time.

Blank screen for 15-20 minutes at startup

I have a Xerox XA7-19i. It has the same problem as described by many others - intermittent fault with the display that manifests as a white screen when the monitor is first switched on. After a few trys of switching on and off, the monitor works fine until left off for a few hours. Recently, the problem deteriorated to no light from the panel, and a flashing blue power light.

I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY REPAIRED MY MONITOR:

I opened up my monitor and removed the power supply board.
I de-soldered every electrolytic capacitor, and replaced them with new capacitors of the same uF and voltage rating.
I put the monitor back together again and switched it on - it worked perfectly!

Yes - these monitors have been built using sub-standard / under-rated electrolytic capacitors. After two years of use, the power supply board was unable to supply enough power to the logic board and backlight, causing the above-mentioned problems.

The repair cost me ~ GBP 15 (USD $30). It is not a difficult fix, but one only to be attempted if you have electronics knowledge. Careful, kids! you'd be playing with the power supply of a mains AC electronic device. That stuff can kill.

But - I saved myself (and the environment) from having to throw out a monitor and buy a new one. If you have a faulty xerox monitor and are getting no love from Xerox customer support, find an electronics geek and ask them to replace the electrolytic capacitors on the power supply board. (but be careful to get the right kind of capacitors, and to get the capacitor polarity correct. If you have any doubt as to you ability to do this, don't bother trying!).

Good luck!
