Ge wjrr4170 no spin

I have the same model washing machine. Several times a year the tub jumps out of one of the support rods. It happened again this week, so I removed the front of the machine and reseated the support rod. I also noticed that the flood hose had become detached. I reached up to try to reconnect to the outer tub, but it just fit loosely in the hole, so I left it detached.
The next day my wife told me she didn't think the machine was spinning properly. I confirmed that fill & drain worked OK, but at start of spin cycle, the machine would hum like it wanted to spin, but nothing would happen. I could not help the tub along with my hand, so I guessed there might be an obstruction. I didn't find any rogue socks to blame, but then I remembered the flood hose. I checked out a parts schematic of the tub, and as I suspected, there is a rubber gasket-like part that joins to the flood hose from inside the outer tub. WIth the flood hose off, I guessed that the gasket was now wedged between the tubs, impeding movement.
I removed the machine top and the tensioners at the top of the tub, unlatched the tub cover ring, and there it was. I reattached the flood hose using the gasket, put it all together again, and I was back in business.
I didn't run across this as a possible explanation of the tub not spinning, so I hope this might be of use to someone else!

Remove the front panel, then look at the motor to see what codes the motor is flashing. There should be a green light on the motor that will be flashing. Post back your findings.
