Pfaff 7570 connection to new XP laptop

I use Pfaff PCD software and connect to the Pfaff 7570 sewing machine using the provided dongle which has a 25 pin serial connector. I now have a new laptop with USB port. What adapter must I buy? I have read old posts that say not every brand is successful.

  • marenmo Jan 06, 2009

I adapted the cords with a simple serial to USB but my windows laptop will not send or recognize the machine.

I had my 3D Embroidery plus all other items removed from my desktop computer and installed on my Aspire 5500Z laptop.
Is there a way that I can still transfer my designs from my laptop computer to the 7570 embroidery machine??
I have a GUC 232A adaptor connected from the laptop to the original cord from the 7570 but it will not transfer!
    Am I expecting the impossible??

In this FAQ list (from PFAFF web) you find 100 times the same question and answer:
H402 My new computer does not have any serial COM ports, so how does it communicate with my Pfaff creative 7570?

You will need to obtain a USB Serial Adapter, which adds a serial port to your computer by plugging it into a USB port. Suitable adapters can be obtained from Belkin [http://www.belkin.com] and Keyspan [http://www.keyspan.com].
The following USB Serial Adapters are known to work with the Pfaff creative 7570:
• Belkin F5U103
• Keyspan USA-19QW
Please note that the Belkin F5U109 is listed as working with the Pfaff creative 2140/2144 (FAQ #H405), but it does not work the Pfaff creative 7570.

I bought a 25 pin female RS-232 to USB cable from a computer repair store. It works great. You will have to install the software that comes with it so the computer will know that it is a serial port.

Does anybody have a serial cable for the Pfaff 7570 to a laptop they want to sell me? I'll pay over the original price (I paid $75) for a replacement cable. (I don't need a USB or any adapter, just the cable that connects to the sewing machine.)

The Belkin devices may work but are expensive (US $ 90+). Search on the net for Targus PA090 or PA075U, which may go for $10 or less. I found the following one on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/TARGUS-PA070U-USB-MOBILE-SMALL-PORT-REPLICATOR_W0QQitemZ230360386967QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCA_Cables_Adapters?hash=item35a28c8d97&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
for $8. I own the two I listed, and assume all of them should work with your laptop, even with Vista. These two work fine for me on both XP and Vista.
Good luck!

I have a Pfaff 7570 with Windows 7 professional. Windows 7 has a special program that allows you to use programs with windows XP. I have everything installed properly but can not get any communication...

I can't tell you much or offer any advice but I can tell you with absolute certainty the Windows 7 compatibility programme has never worked for me.

I have stuff I used to use with XP and either it works with 7 or it doesn't and if it doesn't the compatibility programme makes not a jot of difference.

Good luck!

I have a 7570 phaff sewing machine and a new windows 7 PC What will I use to transfer my patterns to the machine

Hi franlove
I had the same problem when I upgraded to a laptop with Windows XP. I needed to buy a Keyspan, which connects via the USB on the computer to the machine via the pc connector that comes with the Pfaff 7570. However I had many problems after that, and found that the Keyspan transfer rate had to be slowed down to 2400. Of course 3D is the most recent Pfaff software that the Pfaff 7570 will work with. Anything older is OK.

Hope this helps. I will look up the steps that I went through to slow the transfer speed from the Keyspan if you need me too.

Good Luck

Dongle for sewing machine can't be activated

It could be you need a new software program or patch for the newer version of Windows.

Check with your dealer.

Connect PfaFF Creative 7570 to a PC

The software you need to connect the Pfaff 7570 to the PC and to create your designs is called PC-Designer version 2.2 from Pfaff. You may be able to find a used copy. The software should come with a dongle (special cable) for connecting the machine to the PC. Make sure you have this piece because it will not work with an ordinary cable. Depending on what type of port you have on the PC to connect to, you may also need an adapter since the dongle has an old style connector on the end going to the PC. If you are going to create your own designs, you will also need a storage card which inserts into the machine that you send the designs to. Pfaff makes one, called the creative card. I have also used a generic card meant for the pfaff; the generic card is less expensive and has a greater capacity. You can find many designs online either free or for sale to send from PC to Pfaff as well.

7570 connection

I have Windows Vista; I also had a similar problem; found out that I could only use the usb port on my computer exclusively for sewing as the driver software seems to conflict;
Also, having said that, go to Pfaff.com & download the free driver upgrade and see if that will get you started good luck deb

Pfaff 7570 program

I have somewhere that installation diskette (with the old SW version). If I'm not mistaken it was not included with the sewing machine but sold separately with the embrodery arm that we bought together with it some 10 years ago. Email me to [email protected] if you need more help.

No communication between pfaff 7570 and computer

It sounds like you have it configured properly if you have the little machine and computer appearing on the display screen. I had this problem too in the beginning, file assistant doesn't use the files for the 7570 its only for some of the newer machines, use Vip customize to send the design to the machine from the file drop down menu. Hope this helps.
