How do I get this player to play from my DVD-RW disks? I use DVDFlick to write and author movies to the DVD-RW disks but my Magnavox MBP5320 doesn't play them. Is there something else I can do to get it to play? Maybe use a different type of disk or different authoring software? Is there a firmware update from Magnavox that will make the player play these files? Any info is appreciated; thanks.

hi,
Does it happen for all dvd disc or some particular dvd disc. If it is with some particular disc then clean the dvd and try them. If the problem exist for all the dvd then try to clean the lens by dvd lens cleaner and try to play. dvd lens cleaner will be available in dvd stores.
Thanks,

goto the free site xvid and download free the software. in it is a bit of software that converts divx to xvid. this may work. trying it as it's free and the software will not do anything to the film converted just the header. as the images is the same. the header changes the postion of sound first to second and image first to second. so that it is in xvid . i.e why do you think xvid is divx backwards. nice one
It is the re-recordable version of the DVD+R
and everything that was said about the DVD+R is valid for the DVD+RW. Only the
newest DVD players play movies recorded in disks using this format. There are
recorders on the market that can record both DVD-RW disks and DVD+RW ones. These
recorders are called DVD?±RW. Similarly to the DVD-RW, the disk needs to be
finished to be played in commercial DVD players, and to record new data in the
disk after having finished it requires reformatting it, which makes all the data
in it to be erased. DVD+RW recorders are usually capable of reading DVD-RW disks
(but not of recording them) and vice-versa.
There you are.

I should say that this is a BluRay player, not a DVD player...I put it in the wrong category by accident.
Ok I just downloaded the owners manual and it says that it wont work for CD disks but it will work for DVD-RW and DVD-R, "finalized video mode disks only." I was of the opinion that DVD Flick does finalize files...so what am I missing here?
