Hi,
The solution to your problem is very simple.
First make two partions of your harddrive, To do so:
-Open up control panel.
-Click open Administrative Tools.
-Click open Computer Managment.
-Then Click on Disk Managment on the right side.
-Choose your main Harddrive, Right click and click Shrink Drive
The amount you Shrink will became your second partions that you can put any OS you want.

After you Have made two partions Install the Vista Os on the second partion(its usually named D:).Soon after the installation is done choose vista from the OS choice menu.
-Log into Vista
-Click on the Drive that has XP installed into and by using the ".exe" files of the software you want to install. Install the software onto vista.
And there you go, now you have:
-Vista N XP on two seperate drives.
-And your vista has the software you wanted.

How to format aspire one netbook

This is generally how your format the hard diskand install Windows.
First you need a Windows XP or Windows Vista installation CD and the productinstallation code, which is printed on the Windows label on the bottom of yourlaptop.
Boot up with the Windows installation CD start and follow the instructions toinstall Windows.
Next Delete the existing Windows partition.
Next Create a new partition.
Next format this new partition - Format the partition in NTFS not a quickformat. This will prepare the Windows for a clean install if you want to proceed otherwise quit or turn off the computer after format has been completed.

No internal hard disk found

Hi there.
Use the Vista CD to create the new partition, but first you have to delete the old partition first, (the 220GB partition not the 10GB one because that will be the recovery partition).
Get a calculator and work out your new partition, for example 50GB is 50x1024MB so that will be 51200MB.
When you have deleted the 220GB partition select NEW and input your newly worked out partition and carry on from there, to activate the other partition just format it.

Please post back with the results and for anymore help if needed.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

The master boot record maybe be corrupted or virus infected.
To fix the MBR, boot up with your DOS disk and type fdisk /mbr
Then install XP, and delete all partitions and then create a new partition, then do a full NTFS format on the new partition.

HP laptop XP installation problem

ARUNVK, I used to use a win98se boot disk even on my first SATA drive because I prefer a FAT 32 over a NTFS & reduce my cluster size the 16k.
For the last couple of years Mfg's. have made it easer to use a bootable CD with all the setup utilities and testing software one can need. Suggest you do the same. Go to the drive's Mfg's site & download their disk utility/setup utilitys. Creat a bootable CD. You'll be able to boot into a dos like mode & format to your choosing. If you pick the standard NTFS you'll be stuck with a 4k cluster size but if you use a FAT32 you'll be able to pick your cluster size. Using the CD also helps with IDE drives & SATA's.
Creating more than one partition is just as easy. Also helps with systems the show the blue screen of death. Fix's them as well.

Good Luck & kind regards.
