Had a leak around the base of the fixture. American standard sent me a new cartridge, o- ring, and main body piece that appears to have a gasket on the bottom. They did not send instructions, thanks.

Thanks for your help. On this faucet I can not locate the screw that removes the handle.

  • 554775584 Jan 09, 2009

There is a pea sized medallion half- red half blue. I pulled that out but could not see the screw. I assumed that this is where it would be hidden. Also , if the screw is there, is it to be removed in the off position? Thanks

Base of faucet leaks- cannot remove set screw at handle American Standard Elite kitchen faucet series 4453

if you are having trouble removing the set screw make sure you are using the correct size allen wrench and confirm that it is a allen screw and not a trox screw. After doing this try tighten the screw slightly before loosening it. This should break it loose.

I just installed an American Standard easy touch faucet 6310F. The pressure is very low. Anybody know what the problem may be?

At the base of the handle there is a flow regulating check valve. Shut off water supply and unscrew handle and look for debris. Many times the washers break down on the shutoffs under the sink and release "crumbs", these usually block aerators and sometimes the cartridges on certain faucets. Hope this was helpful.

I have an american standard pullout disc faucet which is leaking. I replaced the disk. Now it is leaking more than befoe from the base. What should I do? Is it the o seal at the bottom? chuck

Chuck,
Definitely change the O ring, and ensure the disc is installed properly, as well as ensure there is no debris on the disc. It sounds like the O ring was torn during the first procedure. Good Luck.

Hi folks, seems stupid, but I'm changing the cartridge on my american standard kitchen faucet. If I line up the holes on the botton of the cartridge with the holes in the fixture, I don't have the ability...

Most likely you need to adjust the hot limit safety stop which restricts handle swing to limit the high temp of the water and avoid scalding... check out this link to the install manual for your faucet. Also includes detailed diagram of cartridge alignment just in case you need it.
