Did you drop your camera? If yes you either damaged the lense mechanical parts. If some dust or small particle are on the side of the lense, it may prevent the lense from opening up. If the lense opens up and down a little bite try to pull it out by have very softely. If it opened fully, clean up the outside of the lense and turn your camera a few times. If it does not have a mechanical problem, it should be back to normal. If above did not help, the lense has to be taken out and inspect for broken or damaged parts and clean it and put it back on the camera.

The lens are probably stuck out because of a defective ring in the lens assembly. There are tricks to help lens back in (e.g. see Lens not retracting or Lens Error). Do not try the trick proposed in the articles.
Trying to fix the problem by yourself you risk to invalidate the warranty. My advice is to call Sanyo or to go to a Sanyo authorized reseller. DO NOT attempt repairing the problem by yourself before contacting support.
The fact that camera has not been exposed to any impact, sand or liquid damage should warrant you full repair cover. Repair will be carried by the manufacturer or by a local authorized technician.
