SOURCE: belkin wireless router

If you type the ip adress in your internet browser you would be sent to the sentings for your router. There sould be a secsion for wirless setings thats where you would secure it with a WEP password.
I hope this helps

Why doesn't my netgear extender ask for name and password when I try to use it to connect to internet. It tells me that there is an authentication problem

Hi there! smile.gif Please note that the Tenda 150mbps Wireless Range Extender A3 uses a default IP address of 192.168.0.254 - you must set your IP address to the 192.168.0.* range (* = any number between 2 and 253) to login.

The default access username / password (if required) are admin and admin.

Once you've logged in, you can configure the access point to route through your existing wireless router as the default gateway (eg. if your wifi router is 192.168.1.1, then you would route through that, and set your Repeater (Extender) IP to 192.168.1.2 so that you can connect to it and then "relay" your connection through the repeater. It doesn't mirror the connection details for the existing wifi router, it simply creates an "additional" access point to connect through to your existing wifi router - creating a bridge, essentially.

The extender can be linked to the existing wifi router via LAN cable or WDS. For WDS, you will need to set the IP's 1 digit apart in the last segment (see above IP difference), and switch them both in the Wireless menu to ""Wireless Networking Mode: Network Bridge (WDS), but the SSID must remain the same (eg. "Tenda1") for both of them (it doesn't cause a network loopback), and any wireless security authentication must be identical (password / pass phrase / key + encryption algorithm) on both devices. Again, as with the above point, remember to set the gateway of the extender / repeater to that of the primary WiFi router.

For extra information and disambiguation (if required), see the following page, and scroll down: http://www.enjoypad.com/wireless-access-point/96-tenda-...

How do I set up my Edimax N300 for use with my network? The IQ Setup will not accept my network security key.

Plug it in to power, then put it a lan cable between edimax and PC, then keep pushing the wds button in extender about 20seconds, then you're done but then you should set it up from the begining here is a link on how to do that. Edimax EW 7438RPn V2 N300 Universal Smart Wi Fi Extender Access Point

My edimax wireless access point is saying i have the wrong username and password and wont let me login

For most Edimax routers, the default IP address is 192.168.2.1, default username is admin and password is 1234.
By default the router is a DHCP server which will assign IP address starting from 192.168.2.100 to 192.168.2.199 to DHCP clients automatically.
Make sure your computer has TCP/IP Protocol setup as "Obtain IP address automatically".
Open the Internet Explorer.
Type in http://192.168.2.1 hit Enter.
The Login window will appear.
Type in the default username admin, password 1234.
Click on Login.
Then you can configure the router.

Ew-7228apn cannot be reset

Press the RESET button and hold it for 20 seconds to reset the access point to factory default settings. The default IP address, admin user name and password are written on the back of the router.

How to hookup N300 wireless extender

You should just have to plug the N300 into a wall outlet, and plug an ethernet cable into the ethernet/network port. Access the N300 by typing 192.168.1.1 into your web browser's address bar to access the N300. It has been a while since I set one up, but if I recall correctly it should just ask you to choose the wireless network taht you want to repeat, select your home network and enter the password for it and save settings.

I need ot reset my edimax ew-7206APg but the reset button doesn't

According to the manual (which you can find by doing a search in google for Edimax), the default IP address for the device is
Default IP Address: 192.168.2.1
You can open an internet browser window on the computer that is connected to the WIRED port on the router.
In the browser window, type

http://192.168.2.1 <return>
You should be able to see the screen that is generated from the Edimax and take it from there.
