EMachines. T1090 Intel Celeron Processor format

According to the specs I have Serena, the eMachines eTower 633i Desktop PC, uses a TriGem Cognac motherboard.

[TriGem is the manufacturer, Cognac is the model.
Note it is Not the TriGem Cognac+ ]

The processor socket is a Socket 370,

An Intel Pentium III processor has TWICE the L2 cache, that a comparable Intel Celeron has.
The cache for a Processor is a small memory area for the Processor.

It is the First memory the Processor accesses.
The Ram Memory is second, and the Harddrive is third.
More cache for a Processor makes it more faster )

The motherboard chipset is an Intel 810.

The Northbridge chip of the motherboard chipset, is an Intel 82810.
The Southbridge chip is an Intel 82801AA, or an Intel 82801AB.
(Intel ICH, or Intel ICH0 )

Looking at the chart, and reading across, you can see what the Intel 810 motherboard chipset supports;

1) Processors: Intel Celeron, or Intel Pentium II, or Intel Pentium III.

2) Processor Front Side Bus: (FSB) 66MegaHertz, or 100MHz.

3) SDR Sdram ram memory at 100Megahertz.

[Single Data Rate Sdram is often just referred to as Sdram.

Erroneous.
Double Data Rate Sdram is also Sdram (DDR Sdram)
Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory
So is DDR2 Sdram, and DDR3 Sdram ]

So when looking for a CPU you look for;

1) Fits in a Socket 370 processor socket.
Yep. The best is going to be an Intel Pentium III.

2) Has a FSB of 100MHz.

[ Don't forget to follow Anti-Static Precautions.
Clean the bottom of the Heatsink THOROUGHLY, and the top of the Processor if it needs it. (I always do anyway)

PROPERLY apply fresh, new Thermal Paste.

It takes 240 pin DDR2 PC2-530 according to my research

The max for your system is 512MB. You have two memory slots and one has a 128MB chip so if you want 512MB, you need two 256MB chips and throw away the 128MB.
At Newegg, a 256MB chip is $42+ shipping of $1. I'd consider getting a new computer instead.
I don't think memory upgrade will tax your system cooling.

The Intel Celeron 600 uses a Socket 370 processor socket.

There is a locking arm on the side of the Socket 370 processor socket, that is unlocked by easing the arm over to one side to clear a lock tab, then the arm is lifted up to remove the processor.

The eMachines eTower 600is uses an Intel 810 chipset, for the motherboard chipset.
[Chip and Chipset are slang terms used for Integrated Circuit, or IC]

The Intel 810 chipset, supports processors with a 66MegaHertz Front Side Bus. (66MHz FSB), or 100MHz FSB.

In an additional link, I will give a recommendation of where to buy an Intel Celeron 600, that uses a 66MHz FSB.
I'm not advertising for this place, it's just a place I have used, and have had good results.

Also information on the Intel 810 chipset.

You could also use an Intel Celeron 700MHz processor, but better still you could use an Intel Pentium III 933MHz processor.

Pentium's typically have Two times, the L2 cache that a comparable Celeron has.The more L2 cache a processor has, the faster it's going to process information.

I also know it will work because out in my shop I have an eMachines T1090, that has an Intel 810 chipset, uses a Socket 370 processor socket, and has an Intel Pentium III 933MHz processor in it.
(Made in 2001, and still works good to this day)

The Intel Pentium III 933MHz processor uses a 100MHz FSB.
The Intel 810 chipset supports processors that have either a 66MHz FSB, or a 100MHz FSB.

If you are not familiar with computer hardware technology, then I have just thrown a whole lot of information at you that is unfamiliar.

Most likely the wires are for power, reset, and hard disk light. Touch one pair together momentarily, if your compter comes on then connect those wires to the power button. After the computer is on, connect the other two pair to the hard disk light one pair at a time until you see the light activate when the hard disk is running. Then connect the remaining pair to your reset button.
