Mouse Frozen in Center Screen

unplug the power and remove the battery. after it shuts off put the battery and power back on .. reboot to safe mode then after it boots up successfully reboot normally

Hold the power button down for 10-30 seconds, this should force your computer to turn off and allow you to reset.

re-install your mouse software

do you have a wired or wireless mouse?
Have you tried attaching a different mouse to your computer?
What is the brand name of your mouse?

Try booting your computer in Safe Mode. To do this, after turning on the computer, press F8 button several times. You will see a screen that will ask you to boot normally, boot in Safe Mode or boot in Safe Mode with Network Connections. Select Safe Mode.

See if your mouse works then.

just press fn + f7 or f8 funtions..to unlock the keyboard and touchpad..

i presume you still have the manual for that computer.... i believe the newer computers allow you to shut off the touch pad... look for the key combination for that

Can you use the keyboard? If you can then the mouse software is damaged. If you cannot use the keyboard then boot to safe mode. If safe mode is frozen then the problem is hardware.

My laptop has the mouse pad built in and it froze up..I cant do a thing .I have tried to shut down and if you dont have a mouse working you cant even go to task manager etc..Now what? It is new I have only had it a month...

reboot and go to safe mode with networking

download malware bytes from www.malwarebytes.org

install it and update it and run it and then remove the infections after that reboot to normal mode.

that should fix it if it is a virus problem (thats what i am thinking).

if not then maybe its the mouse that needs to be replaced
