The auto shutoff works in "over-drive" It goes to Auto-shutoff during ironing and almost immediately. It clicks on and off intermittently during ironing. It's almost impossible to iron one garment completely with out it cutting on and off.
This is a problem with a lot of Rowenta irons. It is the auto shut off that is not working properly and the only way to fix it is to have it disassembled and the switch hardwired to be on whenever the iron it plugged in. It is a thermal metal switch and it just stops working and then the iron will not turn on and the yellow light blinks.
I have a kenwood iron and i am too experiencing this problem, I;ve tried shaking it ,but with no luck & it has been plugged in now for 45mins & still not shutting off... Help!!

This is my second purchase and its the Rowenta 1600W Master. My first iron I took back to BJ's because it leaked heavy and ruined my garments and the cord had a short. I successfully returned it to BJ's and purchased another the Rowenta1600W only to experience the same problem and this time BJ's said they won't take it back it's a manufacturing problem and there's nothing they can do. I need another iron and can't afford to have any further garments ruined. How can I have this iron replace immediately because I only owned one iron and that was a the Rowenta 1600W.
my rowenta iron works great except for the cord retract reel. there is NO leakage and there is not a problem with the auto shut-off. My cord retract reel will not retract the cord
