No picture just sound means you are not able to see the picture because there is no back light. Inverter board is the culprit in most cases.

To get HD channels you need to have a cable/satellite box that can receive HD channels AND you have to connect that box to the TV with either an HDMI cable or component jacks. A normal cable/satellite box won't work; neither will a coax antenna cable or consolidated video (yellow RCA) plug. Hope this helps!

Sounds like a re-branded set. Sold under different name than original manufacturer.

1-800-comcast they will get you the code. If there is no code specified, they can walk you through the procedure to search a working code. I assume you do not have the pamphlet / instructions for that. If you have the code list thing, it should have the manual search procedure on it. Quite simple to do.

Are you searching for code for a new universal remote control? My Toshiba TV did NOT come with a remote control, so I purchased one from a third-party vendor, but I didn't know what code to use to make the new remote control operate my other components (DVD, VCR, Stereo, etc.). I Googled the Toshiba website, went to the site's "Service" department and downloaded a copy of the TV's user manual. I found the code for the remote control in this user manual.

I have an Element HD LCD TV and have Comcast as a cable provider. I used the code 11523 and the comcast remote now works with our TV. Yeah!

i had the same issue with my element flx3220f. it would turn on then go right back off. i did some research and found the the problem was one of the transformers for the back light.

First tings first, make sure the TV is unplugged for about an hour before you go poking around in there.

if you remove the back of the tv you will see 6 of them in a row on a circuit board. you will need an ohm meter to check them. next to each of the 6 transformers there is a white 2 wire plug. Unplug the wires from the board and test the two pins inside the plug on the board. there should be a resistance value (mine were all around 8 to 9 M-ohms). if you find one with out a value then you have found your bad transformer. simply solder a new one into the board and that *should* solve your problem.

if you dont have the ability to solder circuit boards then the other option is to replace the entire board.

I had to replace the #3 transformer in my tv and now it works fine. im going to buy a spare transformer just in case.
