I have removed the five screws on the back of the cover. The cover can now be lifted a little bit in the back but wont come free from the front. Are there tabs that have to be released in the front?

How to remove safely plastic casing on Krups XP9000

Remove book holder at back by pulling it off by hand. Undo the screws visible at the back cover, there's about 4 or 5 or so there. Unclip that centre back panel now screws are out. Remove clear beans cover, remove water tank, lift up the lid to drop grounds direct to brew chamber. Both side lids in open position. Now firmly grip the top cover and try and slide it directly backwards. If it is stuck a firm thump against the front side of the cavity you removed the water tank from while still pulling the top cover backwards will free it up. The sides lift directly upwards to get them off. When replacing the water tank side panel you need the front door open to clear a little spring leg.

Red light and blank screen, will it work again, can it be fixed?

Hello,

Yes your phone can be fixed.

The problem probably could be from the power supply or from the panel.

If it is the power supply, then it most likely could be that it got exposed to a high current and the board got burnt.

To fix this, all you have to do is to replace the panel.

To replace the panel;
  1. Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Two screws need to be removed,
  2. Run something like a credit card under the camera surround. It's stuck down with double sided tape so will come away quite easily. You now have access to two more screws. Remove these screws.
  3. Run something like a credit card around the join of the front and back cover in order to release the front cover.
  4. The front cover will still be attached by a wire. The connector from the wire attaches a bit like a plug and socket and can be levered off with little force.
  5. Two more screws, need to be removed.
  6. Now lift the main body of the phone away from the back cover.
  7. Turn the main body of the phone over and you'll see a ribbon connector. This attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it up, away from the phone, to unplug.
  8. Then you replace the panel of the phone,
  9. The LCD screen can now be lifted away from the phone.
  10. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
take care

TI BA II battery change How do I do this without ruining the calculator!

Turn off the calculator and turn it over with the back facing you. Using a small Phillips screwdriver, remove the four screws from the back cover. Carefully pry off the back cover. Using a small Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws from the metal battery cover and lift the cover off the battery. Tip the calculator slightly to remove the battery. Caution: Avoid contact with other calculator components. Install the new battery with the positive sign (+) sign down (not showing). Replace the battery cover and the screws that hold it in place. Align the screw holes in the back cover with those in the calculator, then snap the back cover onto the calculator. Replace the screws.

The battery is a CR2032.

Whines like a dentist's drill when the power is on.

...if all 3 lights are on...
This is a laser mirror motor problem.
If you are a little bit technician then...
Remove all cables, open front panel, remove the cartridge, remove the 2 screws on top and 3 on back side, remove a white latch from underside left (or right i don't remember ).
With a small screwdriver release 4 tabs that hold back cower and remove it.
Pull a little bit on under front edges for releasing two little tabs and remove the whole cover by lifting it..
Now you can see the laser scanner unit with a yellow label on it.
Remove the screw, release the tabs an remove laser cover after removing one or two little cables over it.
You can see now a rotating square mirror fixed over a little disc, secured with a little plastic black tab.
DO NOT TOUCH THE MIRROR WITH BARE HANDS or you will make it dirty .
Rotate the black tab to release the disc, remove the mirror with a clean cloth, and put a small drop of synthetic oil on its rod... that's all.
Hope you can do it.

Hot shoe loose

Canon typically hides the screws under the metal plate on the shoe itself. You have to free it at the front and slide it back to get access to the screws holding the shoe

Replacing the Drive Belt

I am not an expert but I do have a Hotpoint 9334 Tumble Dryer which I guess is similar to the 9314.
To replace belt or heater element you must remove the front panel complete with door.
Screws are different sizes in different places so note where they belong as you remove them.

1. Remove 2 screws at rear top which go through the brackets holding the top panel, slide back the top panel a little and lift it off.
2. Pull off the rotary timer knob and remove 2 screws beneath.
3. This is the tricky bit! Remove the the plastic panel which covers the switches etc.. This panel has 5 plastic fingers which secure it to the metal plate behind, locate the ends of the fingers where they pass through the metal plate. Using a metal rod or punch and a hammer, tap the ends of the fingers to push them back through the holes easing each in turn a little at a time to avoid distorting the plastic unduly. (This is a bit scary as you have to hit them quite hard and the fingers look fragile)
4. Open the door and remove the 4 screws then remove 3 screws at the top and 3 screws at the bottom of the front panel. Lift and ease forward the front panel, unhook the door catch release wire, pull off the electrical connectors and put the front panel aside.
5. Lay the machine on its back and remove 1 screw holding the element housing to the top plate and pull off the electrical connectors.
6. Fit the belt around the drum, through the idler pulleys and over the motor spindle.
7. Put it all back together.
