LCD replacement Sony MAVICA MVC-CD400 I have cracked the original LCD display and want to replace it. It is fairly easy to get to and remove, but I can't find a way to buy a replacement. I cannot find a parts list from Sony or elsewhere on line. THe better parts places might stock it, but they don't call it an 'LCD display' I did find "optical device" at 2 parts places, but neither one has a picture of it so I am not sure that I am buying an LCD or maybe a CCD or even a Lens assembly. does anyone have a parts list with diagrams or pictures? or know a parts dealer that can help?

Herman Panson I have been to the web site. I think I may be able to get the part, but they are a whole sale distributor and not a retailer. I have not been able to buy the part outright, because I am not retail business. I may still be able to make the purchase, but it aint easy. Herman Panson is strictly BtoB so I am trying to fake it.

My sony mavica won't load on win 7 mvc-cd400

Hi,
MVC-CD400 is too old for Windows 7 operating system. This camera works only with Windows XP and Vista.
Check Sony Support after some time (months) for any driver update, if Sony release it.
Thanks.

Is it possible to replace a broken LCD on a SONY Mavica camera?

In short Yes. If you want to do the job yourself you will need to obtain the correct part for your camera from Sony or an authorised rep in your country or take it to an authorised Sony Service centre for repair.

Sony Mavica CD400 orange vertical line appears.

In lesser digital camera chips, this is typically "vertical smear". It is especially apparent if there is a much brighter light source in the image. I.E., a street lamp on a dark street. I have used an early version of the Mavica and experienced this type of situation with that camera, so am assuming that this is typical throughout the Mavica model line. The work-sround is be particular about the lighting situations you shoot with the camera.

MVCCD400

A number of the MVC CD400 cameras had this problem. Sony announced a recall in which I believe they are repairing this problem for free. See the following link from Sony, or visit the website under your model of camera and select "Important information regarding your model"

Sony MVC-FD75

Not good, you will need a replacement floppy drive for the camera. It is a common failure point on the Mavica series. Sorry, no easy fix

LCD Display is black when the camera is on.

Only folks...I just opened the back of the CCD by removing 5 small screws. I popped the cover, carefully. The reason I am doing this is becuase my LCd screen was not working, yet the camera still funcitioned as if the LCD was. Guess what, the flat cable that controls the LCd had come loose from use and time from under the clamp. Simple fix. Plugged the flat cable back in, and wala, back in action. This may solve some problems with the display being black. Check the connections under the cover. easy to remove. Silverwolf

Possible lens damage

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Sony should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following link for more info:
