DRC245N cannot turn power off or open disc tray

Grand children were visiting and since have not been able to turn power off. When power plug is pulled and then reinstalled after a few minutes the signal light is red. When the on-off button is pushed, either on the unit or with the remote, the signal light turns green. The disc tray will not open with the open-close unit button or with the remote on-off button. Have tried to unlock the unit by pressing SETUP,0,0,0,8,3
Also can not get the menu.

I had the same problem with a ten year old set when I was trying to connect a satellite receiver and after considering all the possibilities, like processor lockup, overloading the video input with audio, shorting the scart sockets, and of course voltage failure I concluded that the problem was caused by moving the tv so I decided that with nothing else to lose and having sorted out a similar problem with a computer hard disc I lifted the left hand side of the tv by four inches and dropped it. It now works perfectly and as I was actually looking forward to an excuse with my wife for buying a HD wall tv I am a bit fed up as it is still a perfectly working tv,

My disctray is stuck. Howcan I open it?

There are a few potential solutions you can try if your disc tray is stuck:
  1. Check the power cord and ensure it is securely plugged into the outlet and the back of the device. If the device has a power switch, make sure it is turned on.
  2. Check the disc inside the tray to make sure it is not blocking the tray from opening. If there is a disc, try gently pushing the tray in and then pulling it out again to see if it will release.
  3. If the above steps do not work, try pressing and holding the "eject" button on the device for a few seconds. This may release the tray.
  4. If the tray is still stuck, try pressing and holding the "eject" button while unplugging the device from the power outlet. Wait a few seconds, then plug the device back in and try the "eject" button again.

I have a Bose Lifestyle 28. The CD/DVD slot is jammed - it won't open when I push 'open/close'. Now that it's stuck the audio doesn't work. What can I do?

A lot of CD/DVD players have small holes on the front of the disc tray. If yours has this hole get a paper clip. Straighten it out. Gently push the straightened paper clip into the hole. This should manualy release the disc tray. Just pull the tray open and clear what ever is jambing it. These things usually jamb when a disc is not on the tray straight when the tray is closed. If there is no disc look in and see if there is something in there that should not be. I have small children I have removed some very suprising things from our audio and video equipment.

Disc tray won't stay closed.

I fixed this by jerking the tray gently. Someone jammed my tray and it skipped a few gear teeth. It seemed like the machine couldn't pull it in far enough to reach its preset position. So I let it close and when it was almost closed, I gently jerked it out to skip the gear teeth back into alignment. It is kind of tricky because the motor will just reverse instead of skipping teeth (you'll hear the plastic clicking when it skips). Perhaps unplug it and slowly push it in manually then **** it back out softly. Just be gentle. Good luck.
