Polaroid TV Hello and thanks for the information. I went ahead and popped the back off of it and did the repair that I found on FixYa. Polaroid told me they would replace the control box and fix it for $225 since it was out of warranty. I figured it would go bad again since it was another polaroid box. Believe it or not, I fixed it myself in less than 1/2 hour. I bought a desoldering iron and a soldering iron and replaced the 2 caps. The 2 caps cost me $3.50. I felt like a rocket scientist when I turned it on after the repair that I did and it worked better than when I got the TV. It was so easy that I was shocked! The faulty caps are undersized for the TV and are 10v. The replacement ones are 35v. Polaroid should be ashamed. If I could fix it in 1/2 hour and never soldered or desoldered anything before, anyone can. Thanks again for your help. Take care and good luck. Kole

SOURCE: capacitor size

You can get any size/type capacitor from DigiKey.  See this thread for the part numbers I used: http://www.fixya.com/support/r741402-polaroid_flm_373b_lcd_tv_black_screen

SOURCE: Polaroid Tv Repaired thank to you !!!! You are the MAN!!!

I had the same problem as everyone else. The blue light would come on, but no picture. We would have to unplug and reboot several times to get a picture. The quality of the picture was going bad as well. yesterday, it wouldn't turn on at all. We followed the advise and changed to two capacitors, plugged the tv in and it turned on without a problem!! (you could see the capacitators were buldging) We will see how long this will last, but hopefully will buy more time for us. (we have never soldered before, but thought we didn't have much to loose, and it wasn't that hard!) It took less than 30 minutes and under $20 to fix vs the minimum of $250 polaroid wanted to charge us. If there is a class action suit, count us in!!!

SOURCE: Polaroid LCD TV has no power

The following link posted by stiv0 gives detailed instructions on how to replace the two capacitors that commonly go bad on this TV. When these capacitors go bad they prevent the TV from turning on. However, you still get a red light when you plug it in. Since your not getting a red light I'm not sure this fix will work for you. I'd open up the TV and see if the capacitors are bulged out as described in stiv0 post. If they are I'd go ahead and replace them and give the TV another try. This fix is fairly easy to do and very inexpensive so you don’t have much to lose.

Hello

Thank you for using FixYa for your problem

Always check the batteries first but if is it still giving the same fault, your camera is faulty.
It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts.

Please rate our solutions and if you still have problems please call back for more ideas to help you

Polaroid tv 2700 dead

I have to tell you that I'm finding that this is about the life expectancy of the first generation LCD TV's. It could be fixed/repaired for between $100 to $200 at a good TV Service Shop.
You may just want to put that money into another TV!

Vizio Quit Working

Hello, This is a problem with the power supply board, the pop you heard was a capacitor (it exploded). If you do not have a background in electronics, please have a qualified TV Technician repair the TV set. There are no user repairable parts in the unit. In any event the power supply board needs to be repaired. Thank you, Shuttle83 http://www.electron-age-technologies-llc.com
