Dual blade mower leaves uncut strips between blades.

Mower is a Toro Z4200 ZTR with a dual blade 42" deck. Bought new May 08. Have gone through deck leveling several times. Same results whether level or unlevel. Added a recycler kit thinking that may help but to no avail. Have not taken to the dealer yet. Would like to fix myself if possible.

Had same uneven mowing problem with new Toro Z4200 XTR mower. Problem was one side of the U-shaped rear deck hanger rod had popped out of its chassis mount (did hit something with mowing deck). Removed hanger chassis mount & its bolt. Put end of U-shaped rear deck hanger rod back in the chassis mount and remounted hanger chassis mount & its bolt. Z4200 now cuts lawn evenly again.

It sounds like you need to take the blades off and put a new edge on them which is easy with a bench grinder

I have a Craftsman SL3500 42" riding lwan mower. the two blads make uneven paths ans the left blade makes a cut about 1/4" lower than the right blade. What do I do?

You should be using a up lift blade it will help by sucking up the grass to be cut. You should have an adjust on both sides of the blade deck . As for the strip check to see if you have a wheel behind the mower deck. If you do it might be the cause for mower leaving a strip uncut . Sears has been noted for putting wheels in the path of the blade area and smashing the grass down . That is also why I suggest to use an up draft blade it should **** the grass back up again so you can cut it.

Why is my husqvarna zero turn leaving a strip of uncut grass on the left side of the deck

I have a 2014 HUSQVARNA RZ5424 that I just changed the blades on for the first time now 2017. I got new gator blades because of all the good reviews on them. They are about as good as a screen door on a submarine at 300 feet deep. There the same length as the original blades but leaves two rows of uncut grass about a inch wide regardless of how you try to cut it. Only 240 hours on mower, deck clean ,spindles kept greased . Went back to new Husquvarna blades like the ones made for it. PROBLEM SOLVED. HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY. REL.

I have had the mower for about a year. Since I have owned the mower it leaves a trail of grass beneath the center of the deck. I have taken it to a toro dealer to check out the blades and deck and they...

Sharpen the blades, very sharp, and lift the deck one notch from where you normally cut. Some times the blades will get dinged,or the ends of the blades will dull.

I have 11 years old Murray (42 inch deck). After deck adjustment still leaves uncut portion of the grass between blades. Should I exchange the blades (I have not done it for many years, but I sharpened...

On a two blade deck, such as yours, there is generally an overlap between the cutting coverage of the blades so that you do not leave a mohawk. This does not work well on turns however, and the sharper the turn, the more grass is left. Overcoming that issue brings you up to a 3 blade deck. If your mower is leaving a strip of uncut grass while cutting in a straight line, somehow you are running blades for a smaller deck, thus there is no overlap. The mandrels are offset, one slightly in front of the other so that the blades do not hit each other. I would measure under the deck and see how long a blade could be and still fit within the deck and not strike the other blade, then ask a parts store to sell you something longer than what you have now.

I have a 19hp craftsman 42 deck. It has two blades. It does not cut the grass in the center. It leaves a strip uncut. What adjustment should I do

You may be running too fast on ground speed for the mower deck to cut completely. It may be time for some new blades. The blades may be worn down to where they are shorter than when they were first put on.

Mower leaves uncut strips between blades.

measure blades on a level surface.place each blade side to side and see if their is a difference, all measurements should be the same,if not you have a bent deck or a spindle that is bent.
